Entertainment Weekly (insidemovies.ew.com) has a story on the box office success The Rock has achieved in 2013 so far.
A top ten movie for 15 straight weekends, and counting.

That's kind of insane. He's a ubiquitous presence at movie theaters these days, but no one could have guessed just what The Rock would achieve for himself after leaving WWE ten years ago.
It's incredibly impressive.

Not to mention 10 weeks as the WWE champion. Everything's coming up Rock! (uh, minus that nasty injury)

I love The Rock as a wrestler and actor but I'm not sure I'd say this streak was impressive, just a coincidence that so many of his movies came out bunched together. "Snitch" and "Pain and Gain" both had mediocre box offices and GI Joe adding The Rock and Bruce Willis and making less than the first movie has to be a disappointment. Also, counting a movie that simply made the top 10 is a pretty low standard. The 10th movie at the box office this week made just over $1 million. That's hardly a great achievement. So The Rock hasn't had movies performing greatly for 10 weeks. He just happens to have movies that are out for 10 weeks in a row.

Is top 5 a high enough standard? Because he hit that 13 times out of 15.

Its amazing that you can go to Netflix and ser hundreds of movies that were released in the past six months.
And I doubt most of them were top ten films. Having a movie make a million dollars is still a big deal.

I just watched the first episode of The Hero and I'm not sure what to make of it. Part Fear Factor, part The Mole. The rules are a bit complicated at times.
But The Rock is charasmatic and good at holding court. If Jeff Probst ever stepped down, Dwayne would be an excellent host of Survivor.

I hate how "reality TV" first it is that they picked a girl they know will get into a fight with everyone because it's good TV and they pick a lady who is afraid of EVERYTHING and cries and cries like she is capable of competing with the wrestler or the construction worker in a physical challenge that involves daredevil mentality. And the Rock sweats like hell after 2 seconds of being on screen. LOL
