WRESTLEMANIA 2 was the first wrestling tape I ever saw in the video store. I was probably 9 by the time it came out. The big red 2 on the cover told me that this was a sequel of some sort, but I dont think I had any knowledge of WM1 yet. I think it only caught my attention because it also had Mr. T on the cover. NO ONE ANYWHERE was cooler to me at the time than Mr. T.

This was also the first wrestling I ever saw. My buddy's older brother watched it with his friends. The only thing about it that I can remember is that I cried when I saw Hulk Hogan bleeding.

My dad and I saw WM2 LIVE via Closed Circuit Television at the Anaheim Convention Center. The sound was TERRIBLE - you couldn't make out any of the commentary - but the screens were great.

Closed Circuit Television -> Network carrying all content and live streams.

I feel very old.

WM 2 was my only live WM - which I was at the one in Rosemont where I saw the Bears in the Battle Royal and the bulldogs against the dream team. (and a couple other matches) Everything else was on closed circuit. That was also my last wrestlemania live. I saw 1 and 2 and that was it.

I could watch this again right now.

By the time WM 4 rolled around, I was familiar with who the top people in WWF were but I wasnt watching regularly yet. My dad was, but watching the wrestlers hurt each other genuinely made me physically uncomfortable to watch.

Anywho, the day after WM4 (I was 10 and a half), all the kids at school were talking about how Hulk Hogan actually CHEATED to help Macho Man win and I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EARS.

Hulk Hogan? Cheated?? NO. WAY.

So the following weekend, I HAD to watch to see if it really happened. It was an episode of Wrestling Challenge or something and they showed a WM4 clip of Hogan cheating (!) to help Randy Savage win the title and I've been hooked ever since.

I must admit to finding that banner to be a little intimidating. I wonder if I'm alone?

And Happy Birthday Guru! Have a good one.

That's quite a pained expression on Aaron's face. What are you making him watch, Chris?

Oh - Happy Birthday, Aaron. Welcome to our side.

and Piedude, you are so far past "our side" of 40 that I am surprised if you can see it - even with your bi-focals...

This was taken during Karaoke in Minneapolis this last December.

I promise you, I enjoyed it more than it looks like This was before I found out they had cans of Hamms available.

Here's a much nicer photo, which I'd already used on Instagram: http://instagram.com/p/hkkdlKk-3i/

You can tell I had to rotate to get the banner above because dude is just too tall.

I get more of a disgruntled reality show judge vibe. Someone is auditioning and it's not going well. In fact, it's going so poorly that No-Glasses is in actual physical discomfort, while Glasses has just completely mentally checked out. He's somewhere else right now. Somewhere quieter. Somewhere better.

Happy birthday, Pookums Aaron!
