As I got older and became a casual race fan (as well as having some friends that are pretty hardcore fans), I grew to respect his record and the fact that he was something of a Wisconsin legend.
He took his own life yesterday.

Trickle was a favorite of mine when I first started watching racing up north and then when he came into Nascar I was a big rooter - but he was a bit too old and underfunded. I always enjoyed the "what place did Dick Trickle finish in? by Keith Olbermann.
Too bad. I haven't seen any "why" to it, but he was as nice as he could be. Called the cops and said he was doing it and where, walked away from his truck, I believe in a cemetary, and did it. Bet something medical was going on. Alzheimers or the big C or something. | Mike Zeidler

I am shocked he could even walk. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
