Reposted on: 4.5.20 1543.38 | OK, I gave in. This is the second time in my life I'm betting on horses (I had what I seem to remember was an 0-fer at Santa Anita way back in the day.)
$20 on Orb and another ten on a variety of loony exactas mostly involving Orb and Oxbow.
My scientific system involves a handicapper here telling me Orb was going to win, The Orb being one of my favourite musical acts, and one of The Orb's singles being "Oxbow Lake" AND someone else telling me Oxbow was good in slop. In short, too much evidence for me NOT to make the bet...it's basically just like leaving free money on the table. (I'm sure in two hours this statement will prove to be more pathetic than prophetic.)
I probably wouldn't have invested ANY time (or money!) in this endeavour if the Nationwide race weren't under rain delay, so I blame all of this on NASCAR.

I don't know why Twinspires can't figure out that DERBY DAY will cause LOTS OF BETTING. Every year they get overloaded, it's absolutely crazy.
