What is the difference between the number of views listed on the search results page and the number of views listed on the video page itself? The search results page is always lower and I was curious to why.

Reposted on: 25.4.20 1016.56 | I would expect that the search results page views is cached, only updating every X (hour, day, whatever). Whereas when you load the video, it pulls the updated view count. So the difference would be the number of views since that time. Are they close enough that this could conceivably be the difference?
Or maybe it has to do with this?
Perhaps the smaller number is the verified views while the larger number includes views not yet verified? | Keeper

Reposted on: 25.4.20 1129.01 | Thanks for the feedback. I don't have a specific video in mind but I suppose I could monitor one and check to see if the views are cached. This was just something a friend of mine asked about and it got me curious.
Edit: After more investigating, your cache theory was correct.
