This was definitely a step down after the last weeks installment. I assumed that the drama of whether or not New Directions would advance to Regionals was going to make up the entire episode, so I was surprised when the issue was resolved within the first two minutes. Having New Directions lose was a ballsy move on the part of the writers, and I'm interested to see how it pays off in the episodes to come.

However, I wasn't fully digging what they were doing with it tonight. Tina and Blaine as Cheerios is simply a rehash of when Mercedes and Kurt joined the team in the first season, and the business with the auditorium confused me - didn't April Rhodes purchase the auditorium with the specific intention of it being used by the glee club?

One thing that I liked was that the graduates weren't used outside of the opening scene. It makes perfect sense, after all, why would they stick around the week after Thanksgiving break?

I loved that the piano player guy finally had a chance to speak - his few lines tonight where he bitched about the glee club were a highpoint of the episode.

However, the biggest laugh of the night actually came from Teen Jesus. I never thought that I would find his character interesting in any way, but the scene of him playing paintball with the Jewish guy and the Muslim was simply epic.

I also enjoyed Sue finally making a welcome return to the spotlight. It feels like she has been sidelined this season, so it was nice to see her cut loose with another killer monologue. I'm trying to figure out her motivation here, is she still pissed that Finn called her baby retarded?

I still don't give a shit about the New York story, but at least Rachel's songs were tolerable this week (and she sang the hell out of them) - except for that Chicago number with Kate Hudson's character, that was painful. I'm glad they finally found a use for the recording of Oh Holy Night that Michele recorded two years ago for the first Christmas Album. On the other hand, who is actually buying these Christmas Albums? The Christmas specials are usually bad enough, why would you pay good money to own the music from them?

Now that Kurt has been accepted into NYADA, can we finally get rid of Horseface? I can't see her serving any narrative purpose once Kurt quits his internship at Vogue. It would also mean that we wouldn't have to put up with anymore not-so-subtle nods to Sex & the City, or have to put up with anything as horrendous as that god awful Kiki song from last week.

Deciding to end the episode with Don't Dream It's Over was a solid choice. The tone of the song fit solidly with the theme of the episode. In a way, this would have been a perfect note to end this half season of Glee on. Instead, we still have to endure the Christmas episode before Glee can go on a much needed hiatus. According to the promo, Irish McGee, that fat girl Puck dated, and Will's wife are all making unwelcome appearances. Joy to the world.

Once Finn took over the Glee Club their loss was seen coming. I think the writers forgot that April owns the auditorium, I know I did. I did Love piano player's line about how the kids expect him to know what song they are going to sing.

I hate the NYADA / NYC story lines, Kurt and Rachel get more screen time then the New Directions do yet all the intrusting story's we only hear about, I want to know what every one else is doing too, I want to know more about Quin banging her teacher, Or anyone but them.

I kinda Liked Sugar the fact that she wasn't even showen quitting the club kinda sucked The fact the most of the kids joined other groups in two days in also silly, but apparently you can just join any club any time you want to, even tho Blaine IS IN EVERY CLUB as of the first episode, Sam is on the Swim team, and New Finn is on the Football team, So why do the need to join anything?

To their credit, there have been a couple of episodes where they haven't bothered with Rachel and Kurt, and I'd say they were the best episodes of the season. Having Rachel sing three songs is merely catching up, I guess.
