Okay, this episode was filled with a whole bunch of WTF's throughout.

First Otto's testimony about what happened when he killed the nurse didn't go the way Donal Logue planned or expected.
(OTTO is HARDCORE)

Chucky speaks French?

Bobby Simone, sorry, Nero is caught up in "the game" again and can't get out?

Tig has a dog-gasm that sets up him getting whacked.

Tig doesn't get whacked.

Tara tells Gemma she's leaving. Gemma says she'll turn her in for the cross. Tara calls Gemma's bluff, and loses.

So long Pope.

So long(?) Clay.

Jax does everything he said he would do, but not in the route that Bobby wanted, so, So Long Bobby?

This show has a habit of leaving good cliffhangers, but Tara in the sheriff's car and Clay in the police van aren't exactly "what's going to happen next year" material.

And the ending scene nearly identical to the LAST season's ending scene with Gemma standing behind Jax was a nice call back.

Chucky continues to be a useless character that should have been written out around the same time as his hands.

Sons really upped the level of violence this season: the dog fighting league, the guy getting his head shoved in the bucket of nails, and Otto biting off his tongue and spitting it out on the glass are just three images from this episode the probably crossed the line of good taste - and I loved it.

For a second there, I was actually convinced that Jax had really sold Tig out. Tig's revenge on Pope was awesome, and I especially loved Pope calling Jax a "stupid cracker bitch." With how unlikable Jax has become recently, it was nice to see someone take him down a peg - even if it was just for a brief second before his death. Pope was easily the best Big Bad that Sons has had since Zobelle in Season 2.

I'm really disappointed that Gemma walked away without any punishment. The character was getting on my every last nerve this season, it would have been nice to see some blow back. However, if it means that Jimmy Smits sticks around for another season, then I'm all for Gemma staying on the show.

I feel like killing Clay off would have been the smart thing to do. Seriously, where else do they have to go with him that they haven't covered a million times before with some other character?

Supposedly there are two seasons left, and I couldn't be more excited to see where all of this is going. I really hope that Sutter has a plan.

A lot of WTFs, but nothing that was out of nowhere like the cartel/CIA reveal was. Clay in jail is a logical conclusion to his nomad fiasco, and Tara in jail is decently intriguing.

The Otto scene was one of the more disgusting bits from this show, or any show I've seen recently (Walking Dead included). The background we heard about this ex-marshall guy was a bit over the top, but he'll be an interesting player next year. I looked up the actor and he is the guy from Grounded For Life -- knew he looked familiar. He reminds me of Opie, but it's probably just the beard.

The Tig/Pope/Clay plan was very well thought-out and I liked how it went down. I wasn't convinced that Jax was going to sacrifice Tig, but I was nevertheless on the edge of my seat during that whole bit.

My least favorite bit was the dog fighting ring and the trash cans full of dead dogs, but it led to my favorite bit which was when Jax gave that guy the face full of nails. Ouch

Re: Clay staying alive. I think this show will come down to a final scene with Jax finally killing Clay and the club disbanding. He's too good of a character to kill off before then. I also think Gemma stays alive, unless Clay kills her and that is one of the things that leads to the final Jax/Clay scene. Killing off secondary characters is fine, but you can't be killing your three leads before the endgame.

Bobby said it best in season one, Jax is the James T. Kirk of bikers, he turns death into a fighting chance for life. Some of the time. As soon as Gemma said she was going to rat, I knew Tara was going to jail. Clay going to jail was a true shocker. I figured Jax would come up with a plan to save Tig, but fuck Clay at the same time was pure genius. I also loved Jax telling Pope's second command that he was now in command and you are welcome scene.

As a whole, this was a hard season to watch. The 90 minute episodes were just too many and sometimes too much padding. That said, Jimmy Smits and Donald Logue are welcome additions.

Easily the most violent season and it had so many twists in plot it almost got too heavy to watch, but that was some nice pay-off with the plan to exile Clay and send him to prison. I'm amazed that Sutter and Perlman can make Clay seem like the greatest piece of shit last season and midway through this season and make me feel sorry for him as the season came to an end. The tension when Clay got sold out by Gemma and Juice was almost heartbreaking.

My favorite three things this season are easily Tig's story of revenge on Pope, the character Pope (easily my favorite SOA Big Bad ever), and Nero aka Latino Remy Lebeau. I had a feeling Jax wouldn't really sell out Tig but when he went to save him I was jumping around in my living room marking out.
