It's going to be a short season for Community. Not short enough for some people:

Chase won’t appear in the 1 or 2 episodes that have not been shot yet.

(They say drop out, showing they don't want the show - you really don't have to show up to pass most classes at Greendale.)

Up there in the summary place you can't actually read if you're looking at this post, I hilariously joked (trust me) that this was about 12 episodes after you would've expected, given the bad feelings going around at the end of last season. Maybe it even goes back longer than that, since they more or less wrote him out after season 2, and seemed caught off guard by him being back in season 3.

Chase's problems with Dan Harmon stemmed from the show becoming weirder and farther away from what he likes in comedy...so maybe this is a good sign of the show being the Community people liked under Harmon? On the other hand, Chase seemed to have problems with everyone at all times.

There probably comes an age where playing a stupid racist on television becomes a bit grating. (I'll let you know if I get there.)

Pierce is a great character. Chevy is an American comedian, writer, and television and film actor born October 8, 1943.

Later in that article it says Pierce will be in the season finale/presumptive series finale, it having already been filmed. So I guess in the two episodes prior Pierce will be taking a nap.

I mean, yeah, this is what it comes down to. Chase isn't returning to a show that, likely, isn't returning. Kind of non-news. Honestly, as long as there's a graduation episode at the end of the season for the main cast, that's all I'm looking to get out of season 4.
