Well, I sure hate Merle. Oh, it was fun thinking Merle had turned a corner as part of the Woodbury group and that the Governor had tamed him or whatever, but no. Merle just learned how to play nice and docile so as not to rock the boat. We saw the real Merle again, the sadistic, hillbilly monster.
Poor Neil, whatever his last name was. That guy was never making it out of the woods alive. Right when he'd finally found his cajones, Merle offed him. I'll say this for Merle, he's the quickest draw since Quick Draw McGraw. He took Glenn by surprise and Maggie hostage in a split second. But Merle also lies right to the Governor's face.
Ah, the Governor. Gets word he lost three men, Andrea's best friend is dead, and that two people Andrea knows are now captive in the town, but NONE OF THIS WILL INTERRUPT HIS ANDREA FUCKING.
Daryl telling Carl about his mom was like him assuming Rick was gonna be insane permanently and him assuming the leadership mantle, including father figurehood for Carl. And they found Carol, who isn't dead. Hooray.
I guess Woodbury and the prison aren't very far from each other at all if Michonne can walk from the woods to the prison in a matter of hours, a day at most. Rick has Telescopic Vision or something for being able to spot her coming out of the woods toward the fence all the way from where he was just outside the cell block. Maybe enhanced vision comes from snapping completely batshit crazy and then snapping right back.
Throwing out supernatural mumbo jumbo that has no place in this show, those phone calls were Rick's insanity sorting itself out. I missed the second name of who he talked to, mainly because I don't remember the names of most of the characters who died in season 1. Amy was the first voice on the phone. Then who? Then it was Lori. But it was really all Rick's cuckoo bananas mind forcing him to some closure with his dead wife so he can be relatively normal again. In a way, Rick must have known none of it was real, or else why else kick Hershel out when he just wanted to sit and wait with Rick?
When Rick held his infant daughter for the first time, he should have declared her name is Carl Jr. Then he should have imagined she was a burger and ate her.

Man, I am greatly a'feared for the Merle chat sessions next week. But I love the way Neil's real name was used throughout the episode, especially that scene with The Governor. I hope to God Carol eventually kills Merle a lot. Carol doesn't yet know about Lori. That's gonna be a rough moment. But if you need a nanny, Carol's ready for the job.
If the Governor were to, say, sic Penny upon Andrea, I don't think I'd mind. She has no purpose on the show or in the town except to be the consort of the king. What happens when she finds out about the gal who was in his bed in the season opener? Does she think she's the only one?
Hey, Rick, maybe say one word to Carl. Just one word. He put down Shane and Lori.

| #4 Posted on 19.11.12 1131.57 Reposted on: 19.11.19 1132.20 | I am very glad to see Michonne finally joining up with the prison bunch. I can't wait to see her, Rick, and Darryl in action together and katanas and hatchets and crossbows a'blazin' through walker guts.
The scene with Andrea jumping the wall and stabbing the walker wasn't what I was expecting, but I like the direction they are taking her. Like many others I'm not a big fan of the actress, but I do like the character of Andrea quite a bit so I'm hoping she sticks around for quite a while more and doesn't become another head in a fishtank before this season's end.
I hope we don't have to sit through a bunch of scene of Carl whining that Rick has been ignoring him. The Grimes family drama dragging on way too long (compared to the comic book storyline) was one of the main reasons I thought Season 2 was terrible. There's no time for hurt feelings in the zombie apocalypse. Next episode ought to have a short scene with Rick and Carl straightening things out and Carl's continuing evolution into Rick 2.0. | Scottyflamingo

Shane was on Line 2, I guess. I didn't like the phone bit in the book very much. Didn't really like it here, either.

Really hoped for a reveal that she had become the white guy, goatee'd, generator workin, ex-con's prisoner. Maybe she will be since he wasn't shown at all? Either way the knife scene, while meeting continuity expectations, was rather weak.
Just watched the episode again and realized the brilliance of the writing during the Glen, Maggie and Meryl scene (and Michone). Glen says something like "trust us, you stay here and we will be back if Daryl wants to........"
Why the heck would Meryl buy that? He was already left behind once by some of the people that he trusted. Despite the reasons why he was cuffed to the pipe, there is no reason for Meryl to trust Glen.
Meryl no doubt will succumb to his feelings to find Daryl. However he is 100 percent The Governor's Man right now.
Loved this episode. Although slower than previous episodes this season, major plot advancement occurred. The path to the crossroads has been set. I can't wait to see this unfold.

| #11 Posted on 21.11.12 0637.04 Reposted on: 21.11.19 0638.50 | The phone thing in the comics is played out for awhile, but they did the right thing by having hopefully just doing it once for this episode and be done with it. It is amazing how they are hitting certain beats with the comics in almost better ways. The Governor is vastly better villain and Michonne isn't handing out BJs left or right. So, those are pluses.
Yeah, I am kinda wondering how far away the prison and Woodsbury are, because you would think that if the Governor knew there was a prison there, he would raid that as well. Andrea was in the right for jumping the wall. The girl with the arrows was fucking terrible. As for Andrea's other deeds, I guess can't blame a girl for getting her groove, I guess. Carl is starting to become the Carl in the comics which I approve.
Merle vs. Michonne needed to be longer. It did hit the mark that Merle doesn't think he can take her. Poor Neil. I am glad Carol is alive. Glenn and Maggie are so fucked. I actually liked Sarah Silverman on Talking Dead which maybe the first time, I have liked her in anything. Another win for Walking Dead. Punk being on should be epic.

He might very well know there's a prison nearby, but as far as he knows, it's completely overrun with "biters." He may have just written it off. He'll likely be far more interested once he learns Rick's group did a bunch of the dirty work of clearing it for him. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
