Sorry for the cut-and-paste, but I just heard about this, and I think it's worth getting the word out. Unfortunately, I found out about this about not long after it had ended, but the video is up. This is really a brilliant idea, given the literal stranglehold the Republicans and Democrats have on the televised debates.
IVN.us will be hosting the first ever, online presidential debate. Unlike debates in the past, the candidates and moderators will simultaneously participate from different states. IVN.us will utilize its website and associated social media accounts to publish the event and gather questions for the candidates.
The participants will include Libertarian candidate and former Governor of New Mexico, Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein. Governor Johnson will be joining from Laramie, Wyoming and Dr. Stein will join from Seattle, Washington.
IVN.us is working with Google+ Politics to host the event using a live Google+ Hangout. Each participant will appear using videoconference technology and respond to questions submitted online and from one another.
Note: There are some minor audio issues in the beginning, but they seem to resolve quickly.

I'd disagree with you that in this video the audio issues last most of the way through it due to Dr. Stein's inability to find a way to both hear through headphones and have a microphone pick up her audio at the same time.
