Ugh, so last minute. The movie is supposed to come out on June 29th. I'm not even going to see it in 3D. It looked like the Rock was flying back to film more scenes according to his Twitter but didn't figure it'll be a 9 month delay.

What does this mean for the Rock and next year's WrestleMania (9 days later?) Is he really going to be able to have match if he's spending the lead up doing press for a movie?

They are going to have to figure it out, I guess. He was doing press for Journey 2 before this year's Wrestlemania.

I was thinking the same thing about the run-up to Mania...also we get two straight Manias that are also ads for G.I. Joe!

As a big G.I. Joe nerd, I'm disappointed (yes, I even enjoyed the first movie for what it was: a live action '80s cartoon movie).

And as someone who thinks 3-D is a greedy scam 95% of the time, I have no interest in seeing it that way. Does the financial benefit of having it in 3-D really outweigh all the money thrown away already on this year's ads and publicity, and the toys that I'm sure already are in stores, as well as the bad press/reaction to the decision?

The Rock fears Magic Mike. Especially if Channing Tatum dies in GI Joe.

I am a little surprised they didn't shot in 3-D anyway. People are suspecting after how Batteship sank at the box office that another Hasbro property going tits up for Paramount was a bad thing. Personally, this was going to be a rental for me, but it really calls into question what Paramount is thinking when they have Rock, Willis and a somewhat proven property and get scared over it. I am a giant fan of GI Joe and while I hated 60% the first GI Joe, I respect it for throwing in the Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow stuff and the fight in the Pit was pretty good, too. The shot of Cobra flags covering the White House sold me on this movie mainly because that is the fight I would like to go out in.

It's False

It would probably mean a couple of promos via satellite. If he's being billed as a special attraction anyway, I wouldn't expect the movie promotion schedule to interfere much.

I think Rock has become the movie studio version of the Subway surrogate from Community. A living, breathing corporation built by a lab (a lab with chemicals) and a focus group. #AwwwShit

Unless they reshoot all the 3D scenes in actual 3D and not just post-convert it it this will be a huge waste.

All the non native 3D stuff I have seen with friends have give us headaches.

In another hand brilliant plan in blowing so much money in promotion and then delaying it 9 months. They can add on a tag line "G.I. JOE - THIS TIME WE REALLY MEAN IT"

Kind of dumb the director of Step Up 3D didn't bother to make G.I. Joe Retaliation 3D to begin with...
