Reposted on: 19.1.19 0013.06 | Chuck's final goodbye is quickly approaching. Next Friday, 1/27 is the two-hour series (and fifth season) finale. How the show lasted this long, given its ever-declining viewership, is a mystery.
When this final season was first announced, I was grateful that the show got to end more or less on its own terms with just short of 100 episodes. I still am grateful, but at the risk of sounding ungrateful, this season is mostly pretty sucky.
Frosted Tips Morgan as Intersect was just plain bad. After that, a stretch with no Intersect at all was boring. The return of Shaw was weird. The biggest and most entertaining development of the season was the "curing" of Jeff, which ultimately lead to last week's top-10-of-all-time episode "Chuck Versus Bo," where Lester and Smart Jeff struggle to remember exposing Carmichael Industries.
There's one final arc left to play out in the remaining three hours: the ultimate Big Bad's (Nicholas Quinn, the man behind every threat Chuck has faced...how convenient) quest for the Intersect, which is now implanted in Sarah's brain.
Interestingly, Tim DeKay (from White Collar) had a guest spot this season as Sarah's original handler. This gives me a little hope that somehow, someway, Bryce Larkin is going to make one final cameo (wouldn't be the first time he came back from the dead). It would've been super neat if DeKay played Bryce's handler.
Please bring back Emmett Milbarge for the finale. Wait, did he die? I don't remember. Bring him back anyway! | Promote this thread! |             | The Goon

Reposted on: 22.1.19 1440.32 | I can't disagree with this post. I've been a loyal Chuck watcher since Episode 1, and I've really enjoyed its combination of comedy and action. This final season, however, has been quite bad.
There have been plot holes big and small, the final bad guy is too new and too Ricky Gervais-looking to take seriously, and a lot of the story seems to be rushed in heading to the finale.
That being said, I will miss the show when it's gone, and I also hope for some surprise returns next week.
