This show is amazing.
I remember when Violet tried to kill herself, and I was thinking, "Wow, that's terrible. You're life is so bad because of your ghost boyfriend that you want to die, but you can't because your ghost boyfriend loves you. What could be worse?" Then we found out the answer was actually dying and your ghost boyfriend wouldn't tell you. I want to go back and watch the few episodes where Violet was secretly dead. (I need to rewatch her death... How did I miss that??? In hindsight, that should have been obvious!) The moment when she's running out the front door and right in the back will rank up there with Locke in the wheelchair. AHS' only flaw is that it took 10 episodes to get to that point whereas LOST hit it in four.
Moving to the finale... I was amazed at how quickly they dispatched Ben, although once Vivian passed it only made sense for him to join her. I'm curious why Hayden decided to make it appear like a hanging instead of taking the loaded gun and shooting him or something more mundane. Its odd that the ghosts (and the evil ones, especially) are concerned with keeping up appearances.
How has no one found Violet's body in three years? I'm guessing it was moved at some point?
I LOVED the sequence with the Ramoses. Basically running through all the trauma of the early show in about 10 minutes but knowing the motives behind it. I love the concept of the Harmons as ghosts trying to protect anyone from living in the house. They're going to piss off the malevolence in the house, and that's going to get interesting.
I love how although the show was about a haunted house, the most horrible stuff was all mundane: the fear of your wife cheating on you, school shootings, home invasions. I love how they kept calling Tate a monster, not because he was an apparition, but because he was a psychopath. I know Jessica Lange got the nomination, but Evan Peters was awesome in his madness.
I can't wait for next season and to see what happens with three year old Anti-christ Michael who looks six years old and how the Harmons are going to have to work to stop him from within the confines of the house.
And we still don't know just how much Marcy knows (she's gotta know the Harmons are still hovering around) and just how utterly terrible Constance is.

Ryan Murphy said he placed a clue in Vivian's birth scene but won't reveal it. Allegedly, someone went frame by frame in the scene and they showed a Massachusetts license plate. The show set up that Michael is the Anti-Christ due to being born of Human and Spirit. That has promise for the future or it could just end up being too closely related to The Omen. I guess I'm not really against that entirely, however I'd like to see them keep it as original as possible.
lastly, man that Violet part was soooo obvious that you couldn't help but miss it and end up with a dropped jaw at the reveal. Excellent film work there.

It was quite an excellent show and I am shocked it was created by the douche that gave us Glee. This show was so much better than Glee in every way imaginable. | The Guinness.

Heck, I might as well throw in the possibility of mediocre just to cover all of the possible outcomes that can come from this approach to the show.
I'm intrigued by this idea. I'm typically the type that tends to get hooked on characters and wanting to know and see more about them as the show evolves. With the story that they told in season 1 it makes sense to close that chapter of the series though. Very interested in how creative they get with season 2. Darn it, that Dylan McDermott is so dreamy!
Has this idea been done before on a TV series? It seems to be kind of Twilight Zone/Tales from the Crypt type of approach but on a season basis vs episodes. | Wpob

I would rather they go one more season to deal with Michael and to have Constance get her come uppance, but I guess that is a pipe dream. I am shocked that not once Constance got hers the whole season. The woman did so many awful things her whole life and yet she still gets the prize in the end (Michael). And something was off with the realator - I wish they went into Marcy a little more.
