For the sake of completeness, let's talk about the other new Wednesday night comedy on NBC. Or not.
This was a miss. The jokes weren't really funny. Every one of the peripheral characters at the office are *bad*. The only good characters were Alex and Helen, but still, Hank Azaria as a romantic lead is something I'm not sure I could get behind.
The pictures of Helen's deceased fiance were funny in a creepy kind of way. And the highlight of the episode was a drunken Helen finding half full glasses of wine around the apartment to replace the ones that Alex kept taking from her.

I caught this last Thursday while waiting for "Jersey Shore" to come on and it made absolutely no impression on me at all. I would watch it when nothing else is on (like I did!) but it feels like I tend to do that with at least one NBC Thursday night sitcom a season.

I really liked this show, probably because Hank Azaria surprised me by not being his usual annoying Hank-Azaria-in-a-live-action-production self. I found him incredibly likable, and also enjoyed the would-be wingman whose name I'm forgetting.
Overall I liked the understated-ness of it, and hope it lasts at least as long as its British counterpart.

I was surprised about how likable Hank Azaria was as well. Al Madrigal playing the wanna be wingman was pretty entertaining as well. I liked him on Gary Unmarried. I wont be surprised if this show gets canned after a month or so, but I'd like to see how far it could go.
