Kendrys Morales to have surgery, miss entire season
ANAHEIM -- Kendrys Morales' much-anticipated return to the Angels will have to wait until next year.
Morales announced Wednesday that he has elected to have a second operation on his injured left ankle, which he broke last May 29 while jumping on home plate in celebration of a walk-off home run. The surgery will force Morales to miss the rest of the season.

He was celebrating a home run.
He was celebrating a home run. And now he's out for TWO seasons...because he was CELEBRATING A GAME-WINNING HOME RUN!!! Seriously, will there ever be another story like this in our lifetime? I can't wrap my head around this. It's just...utterly insane!

That was always the oddest injury i could remember. But yeah that crowd around home plate and jumping up and down has to be pretty odd as well. | Mr. Boffo

Davis had a notorious injury at Veterans Stadium in Philly where he tore both patellar tendons while running a route. Marino tore his Achilles at Cleveland in '93, he was untouched on the play.
Gotta agree with the OP though - to be injured this badly on a home plate celebration is just crazy. | SchippeWreck

The only bright spot in all of this is that our younger guys seem to be stepping up. Trumbo and Bourjos are playing pretty well given their inexperience.

Yeah, I was listening to the game last night. That loss made no sense. But again, the bright spot is that Chatwood seems to have calmed down from his shaky season start. I like that this fairly young team is holding its own right now.
Jepsen needs to go, though. And want to like Rodney, but I think he needs to go, too. That Wells trade is looking worse and worse as time goes on. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
