FOX announced today (tv.com) that Human Target, Lie to Me, Traffic Light, The Chicago Code, and Breaking In all got cancelled.

Sad to see Lie to Me go. Tried getting into Target and Code but only watched them rarely.

Bummer about Lie to Me -- my network primetime viewing is down to nearly nothing! I love Tim Roth, & the women characters on that show are so good. But I guess that doesn't make ratings.

I tried Breaking In, & found it a weird combination of slick heist concept with goofy sophmoric characters -- not a good combo.

Mentalist is the only hour-long drama remaining; Community & the Fox animated Sunday night are the comedies, & that's about it. There's Craig Ferguson in latenight. I just checked my TiVo, & those are the only network shows I've got. That's really pathetic. (May I be a Nielsen family please!!!??!?!?)

----
For completeness, I'm checking the Season Pass manager. Guess I can delete "V" (ABC). Is "The Event" still alive on NBC? That is absolutely all from the broadcast networks.

The Event on NBC is still going strong as I also have it on my DVR (which consists now of Event, NBC Thursday night comedies, Ultimate Fighter, South Park and wrestling). I finally got around to watching the first five or so episodes of The Event a few weeks ago. I dig it so far.

As for these five shows Fox cancelled, well I never watched any of them.

Season 2 of Target was decent but not as good as the first. Adding Pucci along with the obligatory romantic tension were creative mistakes. Also Fox gave it the after-Idol slot for the final two episodes. In the first week the rating was so-so (good for the show, bad for the slot); the next week the ratings dipped. That decline likely sealed Target's fate. Oh well.

This means Jackie Earle Haley will inevitably be forced to make another terrible Freddy movie. This is bad.

My wife and I enjoy Breaking In.

Oh well now Fox will have to find another series for both Bret Labine and Christian Slater only to have the cancel it. (See Reaper and My Own Worst Enemy)

Yup. I kept yelling at my TV any time she got shoehorned into a plot. (The thief was a good addition, though.)

Didn't Rorschach get killed in the film, though? I guess they'd have to be prequels.

In any event, out of those five series, I'd only even heard of The Chicago Code.

I really like it too. The build to the finale has been strong. I like all Shawn Ryan shows, because the always have really fleshed out characters.

I like traffic light but o am in the minority.

So with both lie to me and Chicago code cancelled, what's going to follow House?

And i second moving CC to FX.

Law & Order: L.A. getting the boot is really surprising, considering the star power attached to that show. And also incredibly disappointing, since Alana De La Garza was the last remaining link to the original L&O.

And Barry Allen had one of the most significant deaths in comics history marginalized and undone by many of the same gang of idiots at DC who want more Watchmen stories.
