By David Brown
We are through the looking glass on these postgame celebrations, people. We have our first injury caused by someone giving a shaving-cream pie to the face.
Florida Marlins outfielder Chris Coghlan tore the meniscus in his left knee, and is headed for the disabled list after he face-pied teammate Wes Helms during a TV interview Sunday.

OT, but my favorite weird injury was Glenallen Hall of the Toronto Blue Jays, who sleep-walked into a glass table while he was dreaming that spiders were chasing him and ended up cutting his foot. | CRZ

We covered this one. (The W) Back in 2004, Bill Gramatica tore his ACL (cracked.com) celebrating a field goal.
Wikipedia says that was 2001, so I can't point you to a thread for that one here. But here's a passing reference. The Lovely Mrs. Tracker continues to mock Sammy Sosa for hurting his back by sneezing too hard (sports.espn.go.com).
We have a passing reference for THAT one, too.
Rather than rehash all the stupid baseball injuries (The 7) and more stupid baseball injuries, I was kinda hoping you'd have an opinion on this PARTICULAR stupid baseball injury? | geemoney

EDIT: Of course, if we were banning all the things in sports that look stupid, boy, that'd be a long list.

I don't see how they can move around in cleats anyway. If I tried to jump wearing them, I'd torque a knee too. They may as well be high heels. | StingArmy

Huh? They have to jump wearing cleats all the time during games. Have you worn cleats before? They're really not all that different than regular sneakers as long as you're in a grassy or dirt-filled or muddy surface.
Now, if you're on a flat, slick surface like tile or hardwood, that's a different story. You have to practically tiptoe around to avoid slipping.
