So far I like Pandora, Directv Scheduler, Bump (to pass contacts back and forth), and a free periodic table I downloaded. From looking at the games, Oregon Trail and Dragon's Lair are probably in my future. Promote this thread! | | Mr Heel II

| #4 Posted on 6.4.10 0920.03 Reposted on: 6.4.17 0920.14 | I'll echo the love for Pandora and Google Maps. I have an Android, and I absolutely love Gaming Buzz, PhoneFlix, Movies, the Wachovia Banking app, YellowBook, ShopSavvy, NubiNews, Astrid (the best to-do list app I've found), Sticky Memo, craigsphone, StreamFurious, Twidroid...
iMusic is great for downloading free music, and Zedge is great for ringtones and wallpaper.
If you have the extra money, Jetflicks! is ultra cool. The amount of TV you can watch on there is amazing. And for a couple bucks, Alkinator is some good entertainment.
For games, I like the simple ones. Fun Towers, Artful Bits aiMinesweeper, Droid Breakout, Target, Trap, PapiJump, Baseball Superstars.
And, since I'm a gaming nerd, 360 Live and PS3 Trophies & Friends are sweet.
The best alternative home app I've used is Panda Home, although I've deleted it because it slows down the phone a bit. The ability to make your own icons is awesome. | wmatistic

Also UrbanSpoon and Yelp and Facebook.

| #6 Posted on 6.4.10 1306.02 Reposted on: 6.4.17 1307.28 | Facebook and Tweetdeck are the two apps I use the most, sadly.
MLB At Bat 2010 is worth every penny of its $14.99 price tag. I just wish the live audio wasn't so far behind the game action.
As a Scrabble fiend, I can't get enough of Words With Friends. The real Scrabble app is great too, since it allows you to play against people on Facebook. I think it's on sale right now, too.
Other games I enjoy immensely are Solebon Solitaire, Strimko, and DoodleJump. | Leroy

Quoted for truth. Last season, I actually watched an Angels' game on my phone while I was traveling (with the 2009 app over WiFi) - and I wasn't disappointed with the quality at all.
Shazaam and Urban Spoon are also favorites of mine. Showtimes for film showings also is pretty handy. HopStop was essential when we were visiting New York City.
VNC Lite and TouchTerm have also bailed me out of a few work related jams.
There also this strange application that came with my iPhone in which I punch numbers into this keypad, and after 7 or 10 digits, someone stranger starts talking to me.

I'm still in that camp with you. I have a cheapo $20 phone and prepaid minutes from T-Mobile. The most advanced feature my phone has is a built in LED flashlight. | GameCrazy

| #10 Posted on 9.4.10 0916.56 Reposted on: 9.4.17 0917.26 | I just found a game on the Android marketplace that is so unbelievably awesome for anyone who feels nostalgia for the old 8-bit days of gaming. It's called GrandMasterPixel. You're given a grid with a pallette of colors, and you make your own 8-bit images. You then upload them to the server, and it "battles" other people's creations. Your image gets 10 Hit Points, and is subject to user votes. For every "battle" it loses, it loses a hit point, and once the hit points are gone it disappears off the voting arena. You level up by submitting new pictures and by defeating other people's images. Leveling up gives you new colors. It's freaking AMAZING. | Oliver

Aside from being able to track specific flights, there's a "Nearby" function you can select that will map the air traffic over your area. Touch one of the planes on the map and flight information pops up, which links to detailed information that includes the carrier, flight number, and aircraft type.
Fascinating time waster.
I used it on a flight (with on-board wi-fi) last weekend to track the flight's progress.
Free in the app store.
