I suppose we could include iPad as well for the future. I'm new to the iPhone so I'm curious what others have picked up. So far I like Pandora, Directv Scheduler, Bump (to pass contacts back and forth), and a free periodic table I downloaded. From looking at the games, Oregon Trail and Dragon's Lair are probably in my future.

I have the iPod Touch, but I use it on my home Wi-Fi on a Sony radio dock to extend streaming audio to my living room through apps like FStream and Clear Channel's i Heart Radio.

The best app I have on my phone is Google Maps. It's a little clunky on my Hwawei (a/k/a no-name) phone, but I use it a lot.

That, and Opera Mini.

I'll echo the love for Pandora and Google Maps. I have an Android, and I absolutely love Gaming Buzz, PhoneFlix, Movies, the Wachovia Banking app, YellowBook, ShopSavvy, NubiNews, Astrid (the best to-do list app I've found), Sticky Memo, craigsphone, StreamFurious, Twidroid...

iMusic is great for downloading free music, and Zedge is great for ringtones and wallpaper.

If you have the extra money, Jetflicks! is ultra cool. The amount of TV you can watch on there is amazing. And for a couple bucks, Alkinator is some good entertainment.

For games, I like the simple ones. Fun Towers, Artful Bits aiMinesweeper, Droid Breakout, Target, Trap, PapiJump, Baseball Superstars.

And, since I'm a gaming nerd, 360 Live and PS3 Trophies & Friends are sweet.

The best alternative home app I've used is Panda Home, although I've deleted it because it slows down the phone a bit. The ability to make your own icons is awesome.

Been using Tap & Track a lot while dieting, very nice app. AllRecipes and Epicurious are great for cooks. RDP has been useful when I need to check on home or work PC's. Gaming wise I'm having fun with Final Fantasy and Megaman II.

Also UrbanSpoon and Yelp and Facebook.

Sorry, couldn't narrow it down any further.

Facebook and Tweetdeck are the two apps I use the most, sadly.

MLB At Bat 2010 is worth every penny of its $14.99 price tag. I just wish the live audio wasn't so far behind the game action.

As a Scrabble fiend, I can't get enough of Words With Friends. The real Scrabble app is great too, since it allows you to play against people on Facebook. I think it's on sale right now, too.

Other games I enjoy immensely are Solebon Solitaire, Strimko, and DoodleJump.

Quoted for truth. Last season, I actually watched an Angels' game on my phone while I was traveling (with the 2009 app over WiFi) - and I wasn't disappointed with the quality at all.

Shazaam and Urban Spoon are also favorites of mine. Showtimes for film showings also is pretty handy. HopStop was essential when we were visiting New York City.

VNC Lite and TouchTerm have also bailed me out of a few work related jams.

There also this strange application that came with my iPhone in which I punch numbers into this keypad, and after 7 or 10 digits, someone stranger starts talking to me.

That cracked me up, unaccountably. I must be the only guy left who only uses his phone to call and be called and doesn't have a data plan

I'm still in that camp with you. I have a cheapo $20 phone and prepaid minutes from T-Mobile. The most advanced feature my phone has is a built in LED flashlight.

I just found a game on the Android marketplace that is so unbelievably awesome for anyone who feels nostalgia for the old 8-bit days of gaming. It's called GrandMasterPixel. You're given a grid with a pallette of colors, and you make your own 8-bit images. You then upload them to the server, and it "battles" other people's creations. Your image gets 10 Hit Points, and is subject to user votes. For every "battle" it loses, it loses a hit point, and once the hit points are gone it disappears off the voting arena. You level up by submitting new pictures and by defeating other people's images. Leveling up gives you new colors. It's freaking AMAZING.

iPhone 4 is still in transit, but on the iPad I'm running:

Twitter free app
IMDB free app
ABC News free app (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Accu Weather
Dropbox free app
iBook free app
Plants vs Zombies HD
Real Racing HD

I had a couple of iTunes vouchers stock piled, hence the two HD games.

I got an iPhone about two months or so ago. What I currently have:
Words With Friends
Scramble With Friends (a Boggle type of game)
Scan (for the QR codes)
Around Me (for finding businesses, gas stations etc that are "around me")
Bejeweled Blitz

And my personal favorite, Pop Group (I've seen it called Bubbles elsewhere).

FlightAware.

Aside from being able to track specific flights, there's a "Nearby" function you can select that will map the air traffic over your area. Touch one of the planes on the map and flight information pops up, which links to detailed information that includes the carrier, flight number, and aircraft type.

Fascinating time waster.

I used it on a flight (with on-board wi-fi) last weekend to track the flight's progress.

Free in the app store.

The Simpsons Tapped Out- addictive as all hell. Almost spent money on this one.

Words WIth Friends - great time killer.... If my friends would just hurry up and play.

Angry Birds Star Wars- this game is fun. Love the new dynamics.

Chess Free - I need a game to let me know I'm not as smart as I think I am.

IMDB - great answers or conversation killer about movies.

Evernote
Power Toggles (fully customizable widget)
QuickPic (photo gallery replacement)
PicSay (for adding comic book-style captions to photos)
Math Workout (real hardcore gamer here)
