Hi, I'm just desperate for advice today apparently.

So I don't watch a lot of movies. I'm "teaching" a class in English composition right now and in order to illustrate a point to the students I need a film in which English grammar is somehow involved in the plot. It can be anything - a teacher and student bond over love for words and "proper" writing, some random guy can go on a crusade arguing that prescriptive grammar is nonsense, anything at all. It can even be a documentary on some grammar-related subject.

I don't watch a lot of movies and I have no ideas. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

There might be something usable in Pygmalion or My Fair Lady?

Humpty Dumpty has a speech about what words mean in Through the Looking Glass, but I don't know if it makes it to any screen versions.

Similar situation with The Phantom Tollbooth.

There's a bunch of lexicographers in Ball of Fire, but again, I don't know if there's anything you can use. Click Here (imdb.com)

Man, why can't you teach math class? For some reason that's a lot easier, movie-wise.

At your recommendation, I just read a summary of the plot of Pygmalion and I think that will be perfect. Thanks a lot.

I remember watching Finding Forester in high school and I thought that was a really good movie.

I don't really know how to link so here's the IMDB page
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181536/
