According to nba.com, the number 1 overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers is now out for the season.

Blake Griffin, who was supposed to return in December from his stress-fracture is now having season-ending surgery.

Thoughts and Analysis:

It looks like the Clips cannot catch a break with who ever they draft (however the Clippers are hovering around the .500 mark so far this season).

It is a shame because the Clippers who are doing rather well this season could have used the extra power for a relatively good Clippers team.

I hope Blake Griffin can start a successful rookie campaign next season without a hitch. If the Clippers can remain healthy, they might be able to challenge for a playoff spot next season as they are doing this season.

The Clippers were in the best position they've been in years. They're doing fairly decent in the packed Western Conference, Baron Davis is playing like a madman, and they had a valuable trade chip in the form of Marcus Camby. Then the Basketball Gods decide to kick the Clipper fans in the nuts yet again. With Griffin out, not only is the best hope for this team now veering dangerously close to "Greg Oden"-level injury prone, but now the Clips HAVE to keep Camby around and will probably lose him in the offseason for nothing in return.

This team's hexed. Simmons was right.

Poor Clippers. Of course, if they want to start doing well, I think the first step they ought to take is moving the team. Playing in Staples Center as the home team 41 times a year and as the away team twice, and seeing all those Lakers championship banners, can't be good for morale.

Maybe change the name and colors, too. (And, of course, the owner.)

Some sports teams were never destined to do much in their organization; the Clippers are the prime example of Murphy's Law ("anything that can go wrong will go wrong").

I don't know if moving would be the answer as they are on the verge of being playoff contenders in the highly competitive Western Conference. I think the Clippers are one good guy away (or catalyst) from making or pushing themselves into the postseason (but we will see if Blake Griffin is that guy next season).
