Also, I want to lose some weight: go from a 38 waist to a 34 this year.

Record some more songs, make some sort of album-ish thing, start playing live again.
Fuck shit up, old-school style.

I've been doing it sporadically since October, and it's much easier than I had originally thought. After eating dinner the day before, I don't eat again until the next dinner. It's also recommended to take the day off from strenuous exercise. Don't go grocery shopping or sit near others eating lunch at work. Drinking lots of water helps. Some days I even feel like I could even go further and wait until breakfast the next day, but I have never tried it. I'm worried I'll wake up at 2am and scarf down half my fridge. | JayJayDean

I was doing this last summer - quite often up to 48 hours at a time. I once got from Sunday night to Wednesday lunch just to see how far I could make it, but I got friggin' loopy. Anyway, once you get over the fact that your brain expect you to be eating it's really not that difficult. | Big G

Well, I've gotten half way there. Sorta - around this time last year, I was at over 240lbs and a size 40 waist. I'm now at about 210 and a size 36. Cutting beef, alcohol, tobacco, and grains has really helped, as has my job, which is very physical.
I could easily be below 200 but if there's one thing I just cannot beat...it's my love of energy drinks, coffee, and yogurt.
Anyhow, my New Years Resolutions:
1: Be the best husband I can be. Tuesday marks four months since we tied the knot.
2: Continue to lose weight - I use a fantastic app on my phone called Runkeeper - I use it to track my walks, cycling trips, anywhere I go. If anyone uses it, add me as a team member. You can find me at okay77.
With that in mind, if I have the time, I'll walk where I need to. Instead of a ten minute bus ride, it's a half hour walk, three kilometers, quite a fun trip if musically inspired. Heck, I can cycle it in less than fifteen.
It all leads to one major plan: the last weekend of September is the men's retreat at the church's campsite, about 300KM away. My intent: to cycle it. Half the trip on one day, half the trip on the other.
So, yeah - be a better husband and get into better health. Aiming for 175lbs, a size 34 waist, and a 300KM cycling trip in nine months time.

I did that over the course of the past year: I went to Toronto last Christmas and then to Utah toward the end of spring. So yeah, that's done, though four years later. Progress!

So far so good: I've been married now for two years and four months, give or take a week. Progress!
So anyhow, a year ago, my wife and I made a resolution to buy a house, and we were able to do that. Progress!
Anyhow, my resolution for this year: After going from 200lbs at my wedding to 235 now, I resolve to get back to 200. In my possession are a 2L bottle of Coke and two cans of Amp - the last carbonated sodas I will drink in a very long time. If I can kick tobacco and alcohol completely from my diet, I think I can do this too. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
