OJ Mayo and Mike Conley. They're pretty good. And they told Iverson when he signed that they wanted to start their younger players to allow them to develop. | Psycho Penguin

Memphis is a pretty young and exciting team.
You'd think a guy that can't get signed by most NBA teams would be fine with coming off the bench for a team that took a chance on him, but what do I know?
Iverson is one of my favorite players in the NBA and I hope this Memphis thing does work out. It might if he shuts up and just plays. | StingArmy

It really makes you wonder why Memphis would even attempt to bring Iverson in. Unless they really weren't sure about Conley. | geemoney

I'm guessing some of it may have to do with bringing in fans. | redsoxnation

He's been suggesting that for awhile now. Not sure if it would work (for the reasons you suggested above), but it sure would be fun to have 3 of my all-time favorite players all on one team. And if there's ANY team in the league where Iverson might not complain about coming off the bench, you've gotta believe it's Cleveland.

Iverson knew he be coming off the bench and now it looks like he is going to retire? Honestly, I don't think it's the lack of skill or amount of points he can generate that teams are questioning, but more and more, it's his attitude of thinking he deserves more than what is being given to him.
Iverson to me has been a player who would put himself first and his team second. In other words, he was a player of great talent but not a great player.
Surprisingly, not many of the lower-tier teams have picked up on him because he at least gives them market value. The Knicks, who have done nothing in generating at true ball club go for talent first and team second. If that is the direction, then A.I. would be a good fit.
For a guy nicknamed "The Answer", there are certainly a lot more questions. | It's False

They have to look at him, even if they don't sign him. They have no go to guy, no one to push the floor, no leadership, no draw for the fans. I know he doesn't play a lick of defense, is a headcase, and if paired with Robinson a small backcourt, but good God the Knicks really have to consider this even if it is the nuclear option.

I guess not. After totally looking like a signing was going to happen, The Knicks announce that he is not the answer after all Click Here (sports.espn.go.com) . I would have liked to watch him for a year. I don't see why he couldn't start and eat up Duhon's minutes, at least it would be more entertaining.
