Scoring 13 points in the Suns' 128-96 victory over Washington last night, Shaquille O'Neal moved to #5 on the NBA's all-time scoring list (with 27,411 points), surpassing Moses Malone.

The #4 person on the list, Wilt Chamberlain, is still more than 4,000 points ahead of him, and given the fact that even in Shaq's highest-scoring season of 1999-2000 he "only" scored 2344 points-- and he's 36 years old now-- it's probable that Shaq won't surpass Wilt. (Kobe Bryant, on the other hand-- who's #18 all-time and #3 among active players with 23,500 points-- might ultimately do that, though).

Congrats to Shaq on the accomplishment; now if he can just quit trying to call attention to himself by trash-talking his old coaches we'll all be that much better off for the effort.
