As reported in this thread, Jazz owner Larry H. Miller had his legs amputated back in January due to complications from type-2 diabetes.

Well, yesterday, passed away from that very same illness. He was 64.

Miller bought half of the Jazz franchise in 1985 and the other half the following year, and led the team through the bulk of the Malone/Stockton/Coach Sloan era, during which time the Jazz made back-to-back NBA Finals appearances in 1997 and '98, and Malone won two NBA championships Most Valuable Player awards.

As an unfortunate irony, Miller's death occurred the very same year that John Stockton-- a surefire first-ballot Hall-of-Famer-- will first be eligible for induction.
