...in exchange for Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright, Shelden Williams, and Anthony Johnson.

As a Hawks fan, let me just say YAYYYYYYY!

We'll miss Lue and even Johnson a little bit, but they can have the other two. I suppose we'll miss the depth, but neither guy was producing squat. Hell, I forgot Lorenzen was still on the team. Johnson's veteran leadership will be replaced by Bibby's (probably more capable) veteran leadership. In fact, I feel like he's really just a combination of the best parts of Lue and Johnson.

The Hawks and their fans are probably still going to kick themselves everyday for not picking Chris Paul when they had the chance (I was doing pretty much just that last night, ironically) but this will go a long ways towards healing that wound.

You forgot a 2nd round pick next season (nba.com). Petrie probably already has some Euro league player in mind...

It's hard for me to get really worked up about this, because I've seen about three Kings games this year and they're not good enough for me to think I'll see them any more any time soon. Still, he was my favourite dude on the Kings, so it's sad...but not shocking.

EDIT: Kings placed Justin Williams and Dahntay Jones (sacbee.com) on waivers. Now THIS is a little sad. I care about those dudes a lot more than these ex-Hawks I never heard of.

Is there ANYBODY left from those great Kings teams of the early decade?

Nope, he was it.

Even worse, of my Carl's Jr. Kings bobblehead collection of 15, the only King left is Brad Miller!

Thanks for the correction, Zed. That's actually the first I heard of the draft pick being included. That's almost a load off my mind, actually. If you don't count our draft this past year, the Hawks have been notoriously bad drafters, leaving can't-miss guys on the board (Luol Deng, Chris Paul) and instead drafting the same 6'9"-6'10" forward every year. I think we may have gotten Boris Diaw in the second round one year but we traded him away before he became anything special.

It's a great trade for the Hawks. Joe Johnson can now move around without the ball and having to worry about setting the offense. Bibby should get some great assist numbers on this team. This is now a team that can do a little damage in the Eastern side of the playoff bracket.

Great trade for the Hawks. They're not a contender yet but adding Bibby can at least make them a winning team this season, which puts them safely into the playoffs. They could maybe even win a first round match up as long as they avoid the Pistons. They can definitely be a contender in the future as Law improves and if Horford gets even better than the double-double he's almost averaging then they could be scary in the future.

Ayup, the Joe Johnson deal. But considering this deal and the Kidd swap that might still be, does LeBron James get one free justifiable homicide?
