| #3 Posted on 2.5.06 1507.17 Reposted on: 2.5.13 1508.35 | That was my thinking as well. Preliminary research didn't really help much, due in no small part to Google's shocking uneffectiveness as of late. Speaking of which anyone notice Google's inability lately to handle semi-complex search strings? It's fairly random too, but much of the time 90% of the hits I get only have the terms i searched in links to the page. It's very frustrating. | CRZ

Judging from the chatter on WebmasterWorld, I think G's having problems related to their latest update - lots of sites are disappearing (us included) at a frightening rate. Fortunately, Y! still likes us. :)

Are these sites that are dropping off Google's radar message boards for the most part? I only ask because I've found in my personal experience that search results leading to message boards tend to have the highest amount of "404" errors. | EddieBurkett

| #7 Posted on 3.5.06 1004.52 Reposted on: 3.5.13 1007.16 | I don't know if this is something worth mentioning, but inspired by the above post, I googled myself, since I know that tends to bring up several of my posts here in the results, as a test of how the rankings might have been affected. What's interesting is that I got a listing for "The W -- Profile for eddieburkett" that pointed to here (ebypass.org). That site doesn't seem to exist anymore, but I'm looking at the Google cache for eBypass.org (72.14.203.104), and I can't figure out what this is for. Is it common for other sites to copy our profile pages? | Guru Zim

| #8 Posted on 3.5.06 1015.53 Reposted on: 3.5.13 1016.07 | There is speculation that Google is trying to fix a problem where people have scraped content from other sites. Unfortunately, it looks like we were the one that was scraped (our content appears to have been downloaded and presented to Google by another site, as evidenced by your link).
This should all sort out in the wash eventually. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
