I'm surprised no one brought this up since this might've topped Damon Stoudamire's weed in the tin foil.

Anyhow, Bassy tried to board the Blazers' team plane in Boston with a loaded gun (which was registered to his g/f, not him) in a PILLOWCASE. Bassy says he took his g/f's bag by accident. He wasn't arrested or anything but the Blazers put a dent in his wallet of course.

More here.

Man, what the hell is it about the Portland Trail Blazers that magically turns everyone who puts on the uniform into a criminal?

Y'know, they ought to just discontinue the entire franchise and, I don't know, put their players up in a dispersal draft, or simultaneously open up a new franchise in St. Louis or something. 'Cuz the only explanation I can think of is that the team's cursed. That, or Portland is such a dismal and boring place that the players find the need to do something, so they decide to something illegal.

Well it's not as boring as Corvallis, otherwise Juan Dixon would be caught speeding down I5 drunk with a gay sheep in the backseat.

Well, apparently carrying a loaded gun onto a team plane is worth a two-game suspension.

Granted there were mitigating circumstances, and he said he grabbed the wrong bag and all, but... Chris Andersen gets a two-year ban for his first-time offense of heavy drugs (which in this instance is an offense that only hurt himself-- granted we still don't have all the information about it), and Sebastian Telfair puts people's lives in danger with a loaded gun and gets a two-game suspension?

The only thing I can think of is that the collective bargaining agreement's priorities are way, way out of whack.

He didn't shoot anyone. How is having the gun putting people's lives in danger?

Dude. He had a loaded gun. And he brought it onto the team plane. I'm pretty sure that's got to be somewhere on the "things you shouldn't do" list, and in my opinion it oughta be higher than "drugs".

Again, granted he said it was an accident. But what if it wasn't?

I think we may all be missing the obvious here...

His girlfriend has to sleep with a loaded gun in her pillow?
