| #27 Posted on 26.12.09 1608.39 Reposted on: 26.12.16 1609.33 | I got my dad a bunch of USF gear, because every time he goes to USF football or basketball games with me he ends up wearing either St Louis Cardinals or Florida Gators stuff. I also got him tickets to a Harlem Globetrotters performance in Orlando, which I'm pretty excited to see and so is he.
I got my mom some new furniture that she'd been wanting.
I gave my brother a Buddhist-themed chess set I got in Vietnam and some travel books for a trip he has planned next summer.
I got my sister some perfume and a few decorative ornaments I got while in Asia.
The only other person I got a gift for was a longtime girlfriend who is still a good friend of mine; I made her a cheesy photoalbum from a trip we took when she came to visit me in Asia earlier this year. | Dexley's Midnight Jogger

For dad: -A fireman's prayer frame -An insulated cooler for golfing
For mom: -A pink snuggie -One of my favorite gifts I've given: She's a big fan of 20/20 and we had show correspondent John Quinones here at our school speaking for Diversity Day in October. He had a book coming out, so I bought it for mom. Then I heard he was doing a book signing in the afternoon, so I waited in line for that. When I got to him, I told him what a big fan my mom was of the show and that she'd get a kick out of this. I thought he'd just write a generic message, but he addressed it to her and wrote, "Thanks for being such a big fan of 20/20!" then he signed it. It was pretty cool. | drjayphd

| #33 Posted on 27.12.09 0904.11 Reposted on: 27.12.16 0904.13 | The big winner was my dad, who got a HP laptop notebook computer. My sister and I pitched in together (though I put in the majority of the money) and not a moment too soon; his old computer has been wreaking havoc for the past several months and looks to be on its last legs.
The other presents I got:
-Mom: A wrist watch with matching braclets and a thermos cooler that looks like a purse, since she always likes to bring her own meals to work.
My sister: A voice recorder to use at college and when she mentors. I was going to buy a netbook for her, but getting my dad his gift pushed it out of my budget for now. Going to do my research and see which one to get her for her b-day in march.
My friends: Homemade gift baskets with candy canes, cocoa, choclate cookies, and some little presents like a pocket watch(for one friend who works on the railroad), some pryex products (for his girlfriend, who loves to cook), and acoustic guitar strings among other things.
My co-workers: Boxes of choclate candy (either Russell Stover or Hershey's Pot of Gold) to share among them.
My managers: A bottle of Australian shiraz for each of them. Yes, I am a shameless suck-up. But they're pretty cool people to work for, so why not? | KJames199

For my dad: James Bond blu-rays.
For my stepmom: bath stuff.
For my girlfriend: good headphones, a couple good knives to fill out her knife block, OK Computer on vinyl, a stocking full of random stuff. Actually my mom and stepdad each got a stocking full of random stuff as well, now that I think about it.
For friends: Future Shop gift cards, Calgary Flames Uno (a bigger hit than you might expect, but you'd have to know the guy), new PostSecret book, ticket to Hawksley Workman, De Blob for Wii, books for their kids, Hornswoggle action figure to be given ironically (and with a gift card taped to it because I am not that big of a jerk) (sometimes)
For relatives: Scrabble Me board game, label maker, cookbook, DVDs (Up; Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), travel book, fancy cocoa mix | DrewDewce

Didn't realize how hard to get they were until people started offering me $75 for ONE of them. She also got a bunch of clothes, an art easel, Super Mario fro Wii, and a lot of other little stuff, including this dinosaur that shoots water out of his mouth.
My fiance' got a handheld trivial pursuit that you can load new questions from online, for our road trips.
I also got her a cereal dispenser that she loved when we saw it at Target, but I talked her out of buying.
And some nice diamond earrings. (lab manufactured, no blood involved.)
My son got season 3 of friends on DVD (He loved Phoebe) som Bakugan toys, Bakugan body wash, a remote control hover craft, three WWE action figures (Punk, Jerricho and HHH), a few movies and a cool superman hoodie.
