Some middle eastern nation had better be rubble for them to pull this stunt.

If your station's cost hasn't gone up already, I'd recommend filing up today. It'll probably go up in a day or two.
Currently, we're selling regular for $2.68. So we'll definitely be going up as soon as someone else around us does. | Kevintripod

Gas prices springing up again here Friday, April 07, 2006
If you haven't filled up your gas tank in the last few weeks, get ready for a shock: Gasoline prices are soaring again, and experts say it's not clear whether they will throttle back anytime soon.
The average price for a gallon of self-serve gas at area stations has jumped 10 cents in the past week, to $2.61 a gallon, according to AAA East Central. While still well below their post-Hurricane Katrina peak of $3.13 last September, local gas prices have jumped 34 cents in the past month.
Nationally, prices at the pump have climbed 16 percent the past six weeks to $2.59 a gallon, according to U.S. Energy Department. In its weekly report released Wednesday, the department's information arm said "it is difficult to know'' if the recent run-up in gasoline prices "will continue through the upcoming peak driving season or just [be] a short-lived blip.''
A big factor in the early spring spike, experts said, has been concern that U.S. refiners are failing to produce enough gasoline to meet demand for the peak summer driving season.
The amount of U.S. fuel-making capacity that is offline is double a year ago, a sign refiners are struggling to catch up with maintenance work that was delayed by the hurricanes that struck the Gulf Coast last year. The nation's gasoline inventories fell last week and are down 6.2 percent over five weeks, the Energy Department said.
"There is a lot of nervousness about gasoline after the huge decline in supplies the last five weeks," Rick Mueller, an analyst with Energy Security Analysis Inc. in Tilburg, the Netherlands, told Bloomberg News.
Gasoline for May delivery yesterday rose 5.28 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $1.9999 a gallon on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest close since Oct. 4. Gasoline futures, based on wholesale prices before federal and state taxes, are up 21 percent in a year.
Crude oil prices also rose, gaining 87 cents to close at $67.94 a barrel, a two-month high and within 5 percent of the record $70.85 set Aug. 30, after Hurricane Katrina. Prices for gasoline, derived from crude, tend to follow suit.
Adding to the gas-price spike are refineries that were operating at 85.9 percent of capacity last week, down 1.1 percentage points from the week before and 93.7 percent a year ago, the Energy Department report said.
While the higher gas prices aren't welcome -- higher energy prices trimmed economic growth by half a percentage point the past two years, Cleveland-based National City Corp. Chief Economist Richard DeKaser said yesterday -- the good news is oil and gas prices are expected to moderate.
Mr. DeKaser expects oil prices will fall by about $10 a barrel by year-end, to the high $50s, though it's less clear when. The volatile political situation in the Middle East, particularly in Iran, could deteriorate and send oil and gas prices higher before they come back down, he said. "There is a major element of uncertainty," he said.
