It was weird seeing one of the higher-profile stations go from $3.199 to $2.799 over the course of the weekend - that's, like, FORTY CENTS. Two fifths of an entire dollar!
Then there's this...

BOSTON (Reuters) - As gasoline prices vault to well over $3 a gallon in many parts of the United States, some gas retailers are turning customers away because their pumps can't be set above $3.
About 200 gas sellers in rural Vermont own pumps too old to compute the higher prices, state authorities said on Friday, causing some to shut their pumps when prices spiked above $3 after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

There was an article in the Inquirer the other day about how some Lukoil station owners are upset because Lukoil is charging them so much for gas that they have to either set their prices higher than those of surrounding stations, or lose money. Some of 'em have gone so far as to cover up their Lukoil signs and start buying gas elsewhere. | Cerebus

In Longview, Texas, I saw it at $2.399 at a Kroeger earlier this morning. There was line of about 20 cars waiting for gas.
Across the street, a convenient store had it for $2.899 and there were 2 cars pumping gas.

I filled up for $2.789/gal last night. Wawa seems to have the cheapest prices. The place was JUMPING when I got there. There must have been at least 25 cars in the lot.
