The Washington Wizards suspended forward Kwame Brown on Tuesday for the remainder of the playoffs.

The announcement came after Brown, coach Eddie Jordan and president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld met for about 10 minutes before the team's practice.

"We had some philosophical differences," Grunfeld said, "and we're putting those behind us and focusing on the job at hand."

Brown won't travel with the team or participate in any practices for the remainder of the season. The Wizards are tied with the Chicago Bulls 2-2 in their Eastern Conference first-round series. Game 5 is Wednesday in Chicago.

Well, damn. I guess he just played his last game as a Wiz, which doesn't surprise me since it seems like he doesn't really want to be there anymore anyway.

Bah, he's the next Pervis Ellison anyway. Kind of telling that when mentioning the best players on the Wizards, the guy they drafted #1 overall only four years ago isn't mentioned or even thought about. Of course, I think some of the blame for that ought to go to Michael Jordan-- great player in his prime, but with no concept of how to run a team.

Looks like the Wiz may actually have a chance to advance now.

See, I'm thinking he's going to go to another team and turn out to be pretty good. Michael Jordan RUINED this kid. Along with the rest of the Wiz. Hmmmm...he'd look pretty good as part of a power forward platoon in Cleveland with Big Z in the middle.

Yep - looks like Kwame is done in Washington.

http://www.suntimes.com/output/bulls/cst-spt-wiz04.html

Sources inside the Wizards organization have stated that Kwame Brown won't return to the team next season.

Brown will become a restricted free agent this summer and many believe he will sign elsewhere, or the Wizards will try to recoup some value in a sign and trade.

Kwame never lived up to expectations after being selected with the No.1 pick in the 2001 draft. The pressure of being a top selection just seemed to be too much.

But now check this snippet out:

Brown claimed a stomach virus kept him from being with the team the previous two days, including Monday night, when sources saw him dining at Mr. K's, a local Chinese restaurant, while the Wizards were beating the Bulls at the MCI Center. Brown was suspended for the rest of the playoffs Tuesday by operations chief Ernie Grunfeld, with the blessing of owner Abe Pollin.
