Also, someone is REALLY going to overpay Jerome James this offseason based on how he's played this series. I didn't think the big guy had it in him, and I wish he'd play that way all the time, but I think he's going to be Mark Blount, part deux.
I understand your argument but it's one of those decisions in coaching thats going to be criticized no matter what. Say he puts in Peja and Bibby and they lose the game anyway he gets ripped for taking out the hot hands. He gambled and went with the momentum. I thought the same thing as you while watching the game but I understand why Adelman did what he did.
While slightly off topic I wanted to remark at how awesome I think the ESPN playoff ads are. If you can't get pumped for basketball after that I don't know what will do it for you. Does anyone know the what the music in the ad is? | JoshMann

I'm not saying the Sonics are GOING to win, but they have a better chance than you think. Usually the team whose best player is playing the best will win a close series, and no one is playing better than Ray Allen. AND the Sonics can go a legit 9-deep with little fall-off (which KILLED the Kings, as Peja and Bibby were gassed in the fourth the last two games while Nick Collison tore them up), with four big men to run at Duncan. If they can get one of the first two games down there, look OUT.

It happened while "American Idol" was on, and not during one of the commercial breaks, hence, I did not see it until later. It was quite awesome, however.

Take the foul and actually hit 2 clutch free throws for a change, and the Celts might not have had to sweat out an Indy chance to win in regulation and overtime. What the fuck he was thinking, while already having one stupid technical in the game, throwing an elbow after he was fouled at center court? Did he think no one would notice? Celts won, so he'll slide on it, but had Boston lost, Pierce would never have played another game for the Celtics again in his career.
Have to say this though: Al Jefferson is going to be a very scary player in 2-3 years.

Agreed - but Tinsley did a Vlade there. Regardless, their season shouldn't have to end that way.
I dig Al Jefferson, he's gonna be real good someday, but the kid got away with an obvious up-and-down in the middle of overtime that lead to a Toine three.

I'm not excusing Pierce for that move at the end of regulation (he lost his cool when he shouldn't have, simple as that), but the more replays of the "incident" that I watched the more I was swayed towards Paul's side of the argument: Tinsley took a swipe at Paul's head and punched/scratched his ear (not saying it was intentional, but it still happened) and Paul used his arm to shove Tinsley away from him. Jamaal took the opportunity to give a five-star acting job and hit the deck like he'd been shot.
Again, Jamaal baited Paul into picking up another technical, and Paul shouldn't have been so stupid to fall for it ... Still, the "aftermath" looked a lot worse live than it did during subsequent viewings after the fact.
Oh, and if the league even THINKS of suspending Pierce for tomorrow night's game, then I just may have to stop watching future NBA contests altogether (even if the Celts end up winning Game Seven); Greg Anthony actually had the unmitigated GALL on SportsCenter this morning to call what Pierce did a "punch", and that is just so far from the truth (pun intended) as to be laughable ...
P.S. Where's a pic of Pierce wearing that weird contraption over his ear from last night's press conference? That was comedy GOLD right there!

It would have been ridiculous if Pierce had gotten suspended, no question. And he didn't actually commit what I'd consider an act of violence against Jamaal. But having said that... he knows he's got a technical, he knows that he could just go to the line and ice that game. The only chance we had was to get Pierce out somehow, and that's exactly what we did. So, with all due respect, your indignation about Jamaal's flop would be a lot more interesting to me if it weren't quite so covered in crap.
I don't even think the Celtics won Game 6 so much as we lost it, making some astonishingly bone-headed plays when we had so many opportunities to win the game.
But we ended up winning Game 7, and the series, so I won't complain too much about that. Bring on the champions!

BOSTON (AP) -- The Indiana Pacers stamped their signature on the deciding game of their series with the Celtics, slowing the pace, keeping Reggie Miller's career alive and ending Boston's season with a blowout.
The Pacers won Game 7 of their first-round series 97-70 Saturday night to prolong a season marked by suspensions, injuries and disharmony. Now the team that has overcome all that moves on to a meeting with their biggest rivals -- the defending champion Detroit Pistons -- in the Eastern Conference semifinals starting Monday night.
It'll be a rematch between the teams that took part in an ugly brawl that spilled into the stands during an early-season game at The Palace in Auburn Hills. The suspensions from that fight could have resulted in the Pacers giving up on their season, but that has clearly not been the case.

Miami/DC and, of course, Detroit/Indy.
