Originally posted by Sportsline MILTON, Vt. -- Hard to imagine a 3-pointer in the second quarter of a high school boys' basketball game would turn out to be the winning basket -- unless it's one of only three made in the entire game.
That basket, along with an earlier field goal, was all Bellows Free Academy-Fairfax needed to beat Milton on Wednesday night. The final score: 5-2.

I guess if the goal is to win the game, the coach needs to decide the best way to accomplish that goal. Now that doesn't make an entertaining basketball contest, but they probably would have been crushed had they played it straight. | MoeGates

Let the kids have some fun, let the parents and friends not be bored to death, get blown out, and maybe learn how to play a little better while you're at it. If this were a playoff game or something I could maybe see it, but at the level of Vermont High School Basketball, what's the point? | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
