Apparently even though he got Denver in the playoffs, he didn't get along with the players or Kiki Vandeweghe very well. And the fact that Denver's underachieved so far this season didn't help.

Michael Cooper, former Laker great, and has 1 or 2 WNBA titles as a head coach with the LA Sparks, and he preaches defense. Might be a good thing for Denver here even though he's not coached an NBA team.

I really hope they give Coop a decent shot at this job. This team was built to run and if they can use their youth and energy on defense (as you mentioned) they could live up to the possibilities.

Peter Vecsey wrote an interesting column today in the NY Post talking about how George Karl is angling himself for the job without even letting Coop coach one game.

If ANY team hires Karl as a head coach, they deserve what happens to them.
