The Warriors get Dale Davis and Dan Dickau.
The Blazers get Nick Van Exel.

I wonder if Sebastian Telfair will have to give up that #31 jersey now? Or will he still be using that wacky #37?

Interesting bit:

Van Exel, who is 6-foot-1, can play both point guard and shooting guard, and would be expected to back up both Damon Stoudamire and Derek Anderson. He is set to make $11.821 million this season, which in theory is the last year on his contract. His contract includes a non-guaranteed year for the 2005-2006 season.

Good Lord.

It's evidently a salary swap. I actually thought the fact that Dale Davis makes $10 million was more amazing(ly stupid) than Van Exel's $11.821 mil.

I love Double-D to death, but I'd much rather pay JO that kinda insane money than give it to Davis. Thank God we made that trade. Jermaine's got nowhere to go but up, and Dale's only gonna get worse.

I thought Van Exel said a year or two ago that we was going to retire if he didn't get traded to one of the Texas teams? What happened to that? Not that I wanted him to retire, I like Van Exel.

Is it an NBA requirement that all slightly dysfunctional players have to play for Portland at some point in their careers ?
