As of March 1, 2002 5,122 seson tix have been sold and 22 out of 50 suites were sold.
If the Hornets owners do not meet the goal by March 15, 2002 then they can back out the deal and remain in Charlotte.
The owners also can sell the team, Several wealthy people in Charlotte have pitched in money to buy the team and keep it in Charlotte with a new arena.

Reposted on: 14.5.09 0154.34 | The NBA is keeping the name the same "Hornets" for now because it would cost to much to change the name. I think it is a merchandise issue. However new Uni's and colors are in the talks for next season.
If the N.O.Hornets name ever changes "Vodoo" seems to be a popular choice for the name.
