You just _can't_ put on a show that is Deep and Meaningful and Symbolic and Arty and Doesn't Offend Anyone, dig up however many has-beens as possible to perform, and expect the end result to be anything watchable.
But when I saw Earth, Wind and Fire, MY thought process went something like "They got THEM and they couldn't get George Clinton and P-Funk? Nobody called Bootsy? They dug up EW&F, but they couldn't reunite the Mothership? The Olympics have no room for SIR NOSE D'VOIDOFFUNK?"
Bah.

Their syndicated talk show a couple years back, which didn't do so well nationally, destroyed pretty much everything in daytime ratings in Salt Lake.
