Isaih is gone finally. Dont like the Pacers much but any favor I may have had for them was ruined by the Bad Boy coach.

Well, at least we know Larry Bird's memory hasn't faded. This move in my opinion makes the Pacers the favorite in the Eastern Conference.

Frosty, the Nets so don't want a pissed-off Green Machine knocking on their door. The Celtics will rise again in the East. Yes, they will.

Well this is certainly a case of addition by subtraction. Isiah Thomas was an awful head coach.

Well, the Pacers aren't going to be so hot if Jermaine O'Neal (or should I say, the betrayed Jermaine O'Neal) actually demands to be traded ... Well, it depends on who they would get in return, I guess.

He can demand all he wants, salary cap rules would make it virtually impossible for him to be traded during the first 2-3 years of his contract, due to base player rules etc.

Point well taken ... HOWEVER, if the team can't trade him, that might actually be worse for them : rather than getting some suitable replacement(s) come in for Jermaine, they're gonna have an unhappy (and unmotivated) player stuck on their roster for the next 4-5 years.

If Jermaine doesn't want to play for this team, I daresay he won't be a very productive player ... Thus, the team's record will suffer as a result.

Unless they can somehow convince him that losing Thomas was actually good for the team, which is an idea I havent seen explored anywhere yet.

Maybe Jermaine can agree to give up his $120M contract from the Pacers and become a free agent again if he's so upset?
