| #1 Posted on 4.5.03 1810.31 Reposted on: 4.5.10 1810.41 | OK, let's get this started......
EAST:
New Jersey Nets vs. Boston Celtics.
Man, Indiana is BAD. I mean, the Celtics have no bench, toss up threes like they are going out of style, have no point guard to speak of and Vin Baker is openly eating on the bench.... and they STILL lost. If Isiah Thomas is still with that team next year, it better be as towel boy, or they are screwed. I hear the players want him back. Well, no wonder. He let Ron Artest do whatever the hell he wanted with no retribution. I'd love to destroy stuff at my work and have my bosses turn the other way and keep paying me. Didn't he rule the Pistons back in the late '80 with an iron fist? Wasn't he one of the reasons that Rodman didn't act all nuts, at least in public? What the hell happened to that guy?
Anyway, Celtics have had their victory and I don't care how much Jason Kidd is working on his resume to send to San Antonio, they'll get by these guys. Nets in 5.
Detroit Pistons vs. Philadelphia
Tracy McGrady almost took these guys down singlehandedly, and Iverson's better than McGrady (for now). Philly's an amazing story. Everytime I see Derrick Coleman do something good, I look at the calender to make sure it isn't 1993. Philly in 6
WEST
San Antonio vs. Lakers
Realistically, the Spurs will win in 5. Duncan's not going to let this team lose again to these guys, it's Robinson's last run, no Rick Fox and the Lakers looked bored (they should have swept the T'Wolves). However, until I see them lose, I got to stick with the Lakers. Lakers in 6.
Sacramento vs. Dallas
Please. Dallas shouldn't have even beaten the Blazers. Kings in 4.

Mavs vs Kings: Kings in 5
NBA Finals: Kings vs Lakers: Kings in 7
Technically the real NBA Finals: Kings in 5
It's really sad to watch how pathetic the east has become. If it wasn't for T-Mac and AI, and to a lesser extent Big Ben Wallace, I'd have no interest in that conference at all. | redsoxnation

| #5 Posted on 5.5.03 0741.00 Reposted on: 5.5.10 0742.35 | Celts vs. Swamprats: I hate Byron Scott. I hate the Swamprat team. Hopefully, Dikembe Mutombo gets significant minutes in this series. What is forgotten from last years playoffs is if Pierce doesn't brick a free throw in the last minute of Game 4, the Celts go up 3-1, and probably would have been the sacraficial lambs for the Lakers. Heinsohn gets to call all the games of this series, so at least their will be a listenable voice for the games. McCarty continues his contract push. Celts in 6.
Sixers vs. Pistons: On a tangent, perhaps Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady should go take a college math class. Considering neither has won a playoff series, maybe they could learn that you need to win a majority of the 7 games scheduled before moving on. Now, back to this series. I have no faith in Chauncey Billops going for 40 and 37 again. He's not Andrew Toney. Sixers in 5.
Lakers vs. Spurs: Spurs will play tough/out-play Lakers for first 42 minutes of most games. Spurs showed in the Suns series they can't hold leads, and they showed in the playoffs last year they can't hit key shots down the stretch against the Lakers. Lakers in 5.
Dallas vs. Kings: Actually considered taking Portland over the Kings if they advanced, because they could bang the Kings around. There is no D in Dallas. Kings in 4. | Big Bad

Isiah has failed as a broadcaster, GM and league commissioner, so why not as a coach?

| #7 Posted on 5.5.03 1505.39 Reposted on: 5.5.10 1516.18 | I went seven-for-eight in the first round, missing only on Philly. So let's try for Round 2. And I'm still a little bitter over my Woofies losing again, due to quite-possibly-nefarious means, so I'm booking this the way I would if I were David Stern:
EAST:
Sixers vs. Pistons: Someone get Tracy McGrady on the phone and ask him how it feels to be in the second round. Detroit, I think, used all of their energy in coming back from that 3-1 deficit, so I don't think they get it done here. Philly in six.
Nets vs. Celtics: I think Stern desperately wants a Lakers/Celtics final. It's probably their best shot at respectable TV ratings for the Finals. Celtics in six.
WEST:
Kings vs. Mavericks: TNT's already got the footage from that preseason Kings/Lakers fight queued up for the next series. Plus, the Mavs barely got by the Blazers. Maybe they had been talking to McGrady about being in the second round. Kings in five.
Spurs vs. David Stern's Favorite Team: I've already said my peace about the Lakers in another thread, but I will add this. After years of superstars getting favorable calls, it was only a matter of time before we evolved to superteams getting favorable calls, right? Lakers in seven. Gotta maximize those ratings... | J.T. | #10 Posted on 6.5.03 1055.24 Reposted on: 6.5.10 1059.01 | I think I smell something, and it's the scent of over-confidence. I think Dallas knows what they need to do. While the Kings took 3 of 4 in the regular season, the games were mostly exciting, "it can go either way" games. The Mavs will be ready. Mavericks in 6.
Nets in 6 Pistons in 7 Lakers in 6
FWIW, it hurts to not pick a Lakers/Kings series, so it's not like I don't want the Lakers to whip that ass once again in Sac town. | Texas Kelly

East Side
Celtics vs. Nets. After reading Bob Ryan's debacle I expect Kidd to own the Celtics. Hate is a powerfull weapon. Darkside power, but work with what the reporters give you. Nets in 5
Pistons vs. Philly- Can the Detriot Miracle keep on rolling? Probably not, they did the unthinkable unfortuantly AI is real. Welcome to the Matrix. Philly in 6.
West Side
Lakers vs. Spurs. You hear that sound, Mr. Robinson, it is the sound of inevitablity. Spurs do not have the mental toughness nor the talent to much up to the Lakers even without Rick Fox. Lakers in 5.
Queens vs. Mavericks. Sacremento looks unstoppable til they meet in the Lakers in a seven game Hell in a Cell match. That should bust the ratings. They go to the finals again and lose again. Queens in 4.
A Fan- Sorry jacked for Reloaded.
