Is there any chance? I hated AfterMash, the Bradys and to some extent even Archi Bunker's place.Think Community without Chevy or Chico and the Man without Freddie Prinze or Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson or Laverne and Shirley without Shirley. Even two and a half men couldn't really survive no Charlie Sheen and the Office no Steve Carrell. The only reason they lasted more than a year is they were so high rated before.
Will "The Conners" make it? (I'd call it "Roseanne" with a strikethrough.

You forget about Valerie becoming The Hogan Family and going on for a good run as a milquetoast sitcom of the era. I don't know if something like Frasier would count but that brings up all sorts of spinoffs like Joey and yeah that's a line of debate not worth pursuing.
Given that they resurrected Dan it really doesn't matter what they do with Roseanne's character since she can be brought back just as arbitrarily if she and ABC ever make amends.
If they're only doing 9 or 10 episodes again that should be short enough to maintain interest, and between Goodman, Metcalf, and Gilbert, the cast has enough power that it won't be hurt. The show survived two Beckies. It'll be fine. | lotjx
