Volkoff was such a great part of the Rock&Wrestle era, the Hogan era etcetera. As a kid I knew I loved to hate the guy. Hated him, but joined in with singing the anthem because that was fun. Wasn't until much later that I learned more about him. And it wasn't until the 2005 HoF that I learned who he really was. Wow. He told a great story and I loved every second the way he told it. In short; he hated the Soviet Union but played Russian to 'stick it to them'.
Seemed like a great guy and he's definitely one of the most important characters in the 80s WWE.
Rest In Peace Nikolai and have fun singing with the angels.
