Rock coming back is going to obviously be a good thing for WWE. But I really think it needs to be huge. I think his last return was the biggest mistake WWE has made in the last few years. Even bigger than the botched Invasion. The biggest star on the roster returns from a six month absence, and instead of going after the WWE title and the man who put him out, Rock somehow ends up with two comedy ppv matches against Booker, and three ppv jobs to Jericho. All the while, virtually ignoring Steve Austin and the huge storyline set up at X-7. He hasn't even had one WWE title shot since X-7. There is the problem right there. The biggest star hasn't been anywhere near the title for 14 months.

Rock needs to be THE man when he comes back this time. No one knows how much longer he is going to be doing this, so don't waste the time he is around. He needs to get in the title mix instantly. If Brock is really about to get a mega-push, then go all out. Put the title on Brock and have Rock chase him for a few months. Rock, after all, has no problems with putting anyone over and I'm sure Brock would be no exception.

I just really don't want WWE to screw this up. There are big money rematches against Hogan and Austin, who should both put Rock over. After that use Rock to help create the next generation of superstars. No more matches with Undertaker, HHH, Jericho, Hogan or Austin. Put him against Benoit, Brock and Angle and make it over the title. Someone has to put these guys over and right now it doesn't seem like Austin, HHH or Taker care to do that.

Those are my thoughts.

I'm not a Rocky fan. I never was and never will be. But I do see the logic in bringing him back. The WWE is losing viewers rapidly and they need someone or something to bring back the revenew.

IMHO, cut him loose now. He's better off making movies and not destroying hs body, than trying some half-hearted weekly TV return between movie shoots. Give him all the time he needs, and make him, in fact, Mr. PPV. His returns and matches should be Mega-Big, and never on free TV.

A Rocky title run is exactly what the WWE needs. It's a proven fact: when the Rock leaves ratings go down. The casual fans and mainstream audiences just want to see him. Give Rocky the title so he can be on both shows and I can almost guaran-damn-tee that ratings will go up.

I've always wondered why there are so many ademately against the Rock. He's gold on the mic, simply cuts classic promos. Yeah, there's a stinker here and there, but no one is perfect. He is one of the best sellers I've seen in my 10 or so years of watching wrestling. He puts on great matches. No, he's not a great worker in the ring, but he's decent, tells a decent "story" in the ring. You watch every bit of his matches. I understand that some people says he uses the same spots, but so does everyone else.

If anything SD ratings have almost dropped a full point with Rock gone.

I agree with the assessment of putting the Unified World Title on him so he could be on both shows.

I miss that eyebrow-raising, announcer-dissing, finisher-overselling bastard. :)

Already rumored to be Rock vs HHH for the WWE Uni-Belt at SummerSlam. How about another Ironman match?

You know, I'd rather have The Rock shoved down my throat than Brock Lesnar. Or Triple H.

If WWF television in general revolved around The Rock, Chris Benoit, RVD, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle, I'd watch EVERY SINGLE DAMN NIGHT. Including Velocity and all the other new shows.

There are some “over” guys that can actually... you know... work without the benefit of stupid-ass storylines or gimmicks. Unfortunately, the WWF doesn't seem interested in putting these guys at the top, and why would they when we can have yet another Triple H-Undertaker “please-kill-me-now-before-I-have-to-watch-this-bullshit” match?

When the Rock comes back, it´d better be as a heel (although they´d have to time this so it doens´t interupt hype for his new movie I suppose). The guy´s incredibly stale as a face now. He´s been a face for what, over 3 years? That´s got to be some kind of record. And the guy´s the best ´´flair-esque´´ heel ever. Better than Flair even.

Nah, three years isn't even close to a record.

Hulk Hogan and Sting probably are at the top of that list. Along with Ricky Steamboat, who spent his entire career as a face.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rocky as a heel (remember the heel-ness he showed at WrestleMania?) but I'm not in the “this must be done” camp, either.

I feel your pain but as long as HHH is still sleeping with the Boss's daughter it looks like HHH down our throats will continue.

Sorry if anyone thinks this is inappropriate, but your comment made me think. If Steph's into oral, then Triple H is getting shoved down her throat too.

Try to get that mental image out of your head.

I am a big fan of the Rock and his matches, and i think the fed needs him. Put the title on him, keep him face, turn HHH heel again, and let the money matches begin. He is the spark the WWF needs.

I think Triple H vs The Rock was the last great feud the WWF had, and revisiting that could be fun. But only if Triple H is up to providing the type of quality matches these two did in the summer of 2000.

Damn, you are right. That fued truly lasted for years of you look back to NOD vs. DX. That fued was so badass. Pure hatred for the sake of hating one another and wanting the belt. That is sad that it has been that long since a fued that truly captivated the fans.

The HHH vs. Rock feud more or less started the second Rock debuted. Those two guys were feuding off an on for like 4-5 years. :)

Purely a personal opinion, of course, but Jericho-Rock over the WCW belt got me into it in the exact same way for the exact same reasons. It's not quite been that long since they did a great feud in the WWF/E.

The thing about Jericho/Rock is though that I was never convinced that the heel in the situation could beat up the face. Triple H I was sure could beat the shit out of the Rock.

Rock is Gold. I don't care if he's face or heel, I will watch him either way. He teased heel against Austin at X7, he teased heel against Jericho at No Mercy, and he teased heel against Hogan at X8. The crowd ate it up and so did I. Put this man in a good program where the lines between face and heel are blurred, and you will have a captive audience. Cause we all know Rocky can be the biggest jerk on the planet, but we don't know if he's actually gonna DO it.
