Guess we're still excited over the Brock Lesnar return.

I admit to wondering if Brock's playing softball on the side.

Watched the Reigns Vs Kane and Randy thing at the start, saw it was a divas match next and tirned away for a sec, ended up watching The Americans on Netflix

came back to HHH announcing the person to fight Cena and found out it was Brock and turned to the news when Paul Heyman started his spiel.

No one else is tired of Heyman except me?

A McMahon getting arrested is the cornerstone of a successful angle. That whole segment was played pitch perfect by all parties, beginning with JBL.

Loved the reaction to the Paige turn...wonderfully executed.

Rusev sold last night's ankle injury like a champ.

Beast For Business

I cannot believe they called back to HEATH SLATER and Flo Rida's bit from WM28.

So, what does SummerSlam look like?

Cena/Brock
Ambrose/Rollins
Reigns/Orton (with Kane? or Cesaro/Kane separately?)
Brie/Steph
AJ/Paige
Jericho/Wyatt
something with Sheamus/Miz/Ziggler

Pretty stacked.

And Usos vs. Big E/Kofi? I'm curious if this angle with Xavier/E/Kofi is a response to the recent complaints of black wrestlers in the company. I'm not sure that teaming them all together is the way to go but E and Kofi could be a fun big man/little man tag team and they definitely need some heel tag teams.

I was really hoping that Triple H's "prove yourself if you want to be Cena's next opponent" was going to lead to somebody trying to impress him by taking on Rusev to set up Rusev's SummerSlam opponent.

After tonight's match between Miz and Ziggler I wouldn't mind seeing a two falls triple threat match with Sheamus where both titles are on the line, like Angle/Jericho/Benoit at Wrestlemania 2000.

Am I the only one hoping that the Authority successfully convinces Nikki that her beatdowns are Brie's fault and she turns heel and helps Steph at SummerSlam?

I love how EVERYONE in the crowd knew already that Brock was going to be in the SummerSlam main event, and wasn't buying Orton for a second. Then Reigns came out and drove him off, and as soon as Heyman walked out the crowd erupted. I have a feeling Lesnar is gonna be getting some monster face heat for destroying Cena.

Speaking of Cena, where the heck is the chump--er, champ? Not Here, apparently.

I planned on tuning out entirely for the 4-on-1, and the match itself was as short and brutal as one would expect, but what happened around it was pretty entertaining. First Brie calls Steph out on being a vindictive little bitch, then she uses the slap on national TV as clearly documented battery. I wonder if storyline-wise Brie planned all this from the get-go.

On a side note ... Steph looked pretty bad in that dress with her arms behind her back. Did not compliment her implants at all.

I totally ignored Flo Rida. Was glad he only had one song.

Ziggler and Miz had the Match of the Night, no question. Cesaro and Ambrose was pretty good too but gets disqualified due to the screwjob finish.

I'm starting to think Jericho's 'rust' is him just getting old, I mean he's been at this as long as RVD if not longer, and obviously both of them are gonna start slowing down and feeling the effects of being in the business for so long.

Glad they finally pulled the trigger on Paige's heel turn. That was a pretty vicious beatdown for a Diva feud. I kept expecting her to slide back into the ring and pose with the belt before chucking it at AJ's head or something, but she just skipped merrily out of the arena.

I wonder if the Xavier/Big E/Kofi union is a reference to TNA's MVP/King/Lashley which is a reference to the reuniting of 2014 Evolution with Triple H/Orton/Batista?

Blackvoluception!

This RAW was better than Battleground last night.

I would be a lot more excited for the Lesnar/Cena match if Cena hadn't already beat Lesnar at Extreme Rules.

So I guess everyone is just gonna pretend that match never happened? Was it mentioned?

I believe this was a response to The Atlantic article on the WWE's spotty history in how they have presented African Americans over the years. This is pretty much like when the RTC was created after the PTC railed against the WWE. I don't think the creation of MVP's faction had anything to do with Evolution.

Heard he is filming Trainwreck with Judd Apatow and Amy Schumer. Cuz Cena is a Wrestler first and all that crap he said to The Rock.

Don't think that's fair, seeing that several times Cena's flown back & forth to be on the show even when he was filming.
And sometimes it's good to not have a participant there when you start the next angle. Now you can hold the face-off next week.

To be fair, this film schedule was probably committed to before they even knew they were going to vacate the WWE Title for Money in the Bank. Cena was never even supposed to be champion right now, because it was supposed to be Bryan/Lesnar. I doubt Judd Apatow and the producers care that Cena has to set up his angle with Brock.

I don't think the fact that they did Cena/Lesnar before harms this match at all, because they've raised the stakes this time and also since Cena beat Lesnar in Part One, it's time for Lesnar to collect on his receipt, which should be worth watching. And if they can execute a match half as good as Extreme Rules 2012, it'll still be great.

Not sure if I'm sold on the color on Reigns' tights.

Glad Zack Ryder got a win. Even if I'm not totally sold on his gimmick, I've always been sold on the idea of talent getting themselves over and their treatment of someone who's managed to generate some buzz and is their own guy has always been really weird to me.

Great job with Stephanie/Brie and finally doing something with Xavier Woods. Cesaro/Ambrose was also great.

Awesome trolling by HHH to start the show.

Is there only one matador now? Only one was in the battle royal and only one was in the graphic for HHH's decision. Not that I give a shit, just observing.

Stephanie McMahon is great. Tremendous job by all involved with the arrest angle. Rectangle cleavage is going downtown. At least they strapped her in. Safety first.

I'm disappointed that Sandow didn't do LeBron's cloud of powder at some point.

Looking at Randy Orton, I love what he's become and how he's playing it. There is subtlety and psychology to his movements and facial expressions that enhance the hell out of the character. He's been having consistently good-to-great matches since his feud with Christian (RIP) a few years ago. His promos have gotten markedly better, especially when they put a word count on him and don't make him improvise. And he's always looked like a guy that you just want to punch in the face. Long story short, he's been putting it all together for some time now and has become, despite my early dislike of him, one of my favorite parts of the show every week. There's a clear progression with him that is refreshing to see, especially when so many superstars are happy in stagnation (Cena, Sheamus).

That locker room beat down of Jericho by Bray was well done. The promo would've been gold if he would've ended it when he said "war is my game" instead of going on to pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name.

Did you know? Nikki Bella's nipple was paused by more people than any other program in this history of television nipples this week.

Dolph Ziggler has street cred.

Roman Reigns is your friend who comes over to play a wrestling game but doesn't know the controls, so he uses the same move the whole match until the special meter is full.

Now I have a reason to care about the crazy yelling British goth girl. Brutal, great stuff.

I wonder why they retconned the finish to the Swagger-Rusev match. I know I watched Swagger get counted out, but King told me Swagger tapped to the Accolade.

Paul Heyman is the best.

Much better Raw than the PPV, so much so that da sheetz seem to have been right when they said WWE booked backward from SummerSlam. I'm happy that there's an actual plan for what happens in four weeks and maybe this strategy will force them to have a clear, cohesive direction in booking.

It's funny, i actually tuned in for the first time since D-Bry went awol & within ten minutes I tuned out again after watching Trips trying his hardest to pretend not to want Cena as champion & trying to be a smart-ass with his 'Mark & Me' rant.

Considering they are looking to lose at least 52 million due to the stock drop and 115 million invested in the Network which has failed to meet projected targets of growth, and is likely to continue to do so since they can't afford expansions into foreign markets on the schedule they had intended... poking the bear probably isn't the best idea. WCW lost 62 million in their last year. WWE are not far from that number and if they don't hit 2 million on their network within the next 2 years, especially after pissing off their PPV providers and failing to meet their claimed 2-3 times growth of valuation on their TV deals, as well as their choice to withold their 1st quarter Network profits until the second quarter....

Seriously, HHH and WWE could do without further negative publicity. They are a cottage industry that has devalued to the tune of 430 million. In practical terms, they should be grateful for their remaining audience rather than antagonising them. CM Punk chants continue in mutual antagonism as long as this nonsense continues.
His comments are clearly in light of the negative reaction to Lana's promos (and negative reaction to the product in general) which he is considering to be an overreaction by "marks".

This is the same company who had Randy Orton say Eddie Guerrero was in Hell so I don't expect much in the way of class from them as long as Vince still sits on top, but seriously, in an age where they are trying to cater to charity and rights groups like the Special Olympics, cancer charities, bullying and parental charities, etc while having accountability to shareholders, as an actual empowered executive he should watch his mouth. This is not 1985, this is 2014. They have accountability to their shareholders, affiliated sponsors, advertisers and charity affiliates too. They didn't have that problem in previous years.

You can get heat without it having to be cheap or antagonistic. As an actual invested party with executive power, he should know better than to do a dick-waving routine when the company is going to be in the red at the end of the year no matter what. It's lack of practical foresight.

But yeah who cares about all that anyway LOL WE REALLY TROLLED THOSE SMARKS HAHAHAHAHA!

I totally agree with that Digital Spy post. It doesn't surprise me, HHH is trolling the fans after what is considered a letdown PPV. Keep laughing at the fans, I am sure that will get the Network subscriptions up. At least, they are now bribing people with a $25 Shopzone card to sign up.

Brock/Cena is the main event, I expected when D-Bry went down. It will get some casual fans and Heyman will keep the promos going to keep the IWC happy. The problem is having a champ that is never around unless for the third year in a row at SummerSlam, they will cash it in. And yes, we are going to forget Cena beat Brock.

Reigns is trapped in the same hole Bryan was in. That trap is the blackhole of suck in Orton and Kane. It would have been nice if we didn't a Diva beatdown to Paige/AJ. Steph vs.Brie or Nikki is hella lame. I doubt anything will be advanced that Steph gets arrested and HHH does nothing.

Ambrose is a beast. He is the hero we deserve and need.

So, me and WWE seem to be having one of our tifts again.

Were the announcers and myself the only ones who didn't seem to know the IC match was non title until after the pinfall?

I'm not exactly sure why AJ is the face here. She's been very passive aggressive and overly skippy since coming back.

Happy trails Heyman/Cesaro pairing. You were always awkward, so why make your breakup anything different. It would have been nice if Triple H got really excited and replaced Kane on the spot though.

I would have gone to bed early if they hadn't teased Cearo vs Ambrose which never got going and had a huge ad break and Heyman/Brock which delivered (tough night of work for Brock).

I need to start skipping hour one again, but I miss the risk of missing Luke Harper who often does his thing in there, but I can't handle the flow or lack there of of these shows right now.

You mean that match where Lesnar completely dominated Cena throughout the whole thing and only lost due to a flukey shot from Cena? I wager it will get brought up again. :)

I have to admit, I'm actually intrigued by the Stephanie arrest -- but mostly in wondering if they'll go anywhere with the bit about HHH staying at the show to finish things up before going to the police station. Will they use this to turn Steph face and have feuding McMahons? Or was this just a one-off comedy bit?

Is Bo a face or a heel? JBL loves him, but Bo's insufferable. Sandow is a comedy heat gimmick, so anyone who fights him is a face by default. Or face-ier. Also Bo should have been the one to inspire Kofi and Big E because, well, that's his entire gimmick.

During all this (and that should read "aaaaaallllllllll" this) soap opera about the Bellas and Steph, has anyone reminded JBL that he also famously quit in the ring?

In other JBL news, I really don't like JBL.

Heyman, however, is the WWE's Toby Ziegler. The dismissal of the usual heel ultimatum of surrendering the belt or else was great. The assertion of an inevitable beating was great. The corruption of the pledge of allegiance was marvelous. And the angle can only trend downward once Cena rebuts.

Also kudos to whomever floated "Roman empire" (either a real tweet or a plant).

I don't like the addition of "he's here" to Miz's entrance. His entrance was fine last week without it.

I do not at all buy Orton or Kane as most of the company's top three heels. I don't believe them as title contenders or threats or Authority enforcers. They are simply role-players, bland in word and deed. Who was it that always made CRZ fall asleep in his recaps? That's where I am with these two.

I was impressed with the WWE for not immediately showing the Jericho attack and instead referring to it playing on the app. I thought they might use it as strong selling tactic to make the app indispensable. But no. Bray showed it once the Wyatts got to the ring.
