I don't know what is more offensive, his remarks or the fact that this depressing loser still has a career. I thought he faded into obscurity years ago.

| #3 Posted on 11.6.04 1341.49 Reposted on: 11.6.11 1342.01 | His comments were stupid, if only because of the inevitable investigation by the US government (don't they investigate all president death related stuff?). Sure, he's got the wrath of conservatives, but a lot of artists and actors nowadays do. Just like a lot of conservatives are targeted by liberals.
The difference between Morrissey and the Dixie Chicks is that he wasn't offending his core audience. The majority of country music fans are conservatives, and the Dixie Chicks insulted the hero of a lot of conservatives with their comments.
This got Morrissey back into the limelight, didn't it? No publicity is bad publicity. Hell, I thought the guy's career was over. I know teen angst is once again popular, but 40-something angst?

The Dixie Chicks may have been stupid but the comparison doesn't wash. Look at it this way. there are two stereo types involved - all country fans and musicians are red-neck conservatives and rockers are all bleeding-heart liberals. Wow it isn't true. | Reverend J Shaft

Well, for one, me. I'm not saying he can't say that. I'm saying I'm going to call his sorry, no-talent ass out on it as several others have.

Because decent society encourages the positive support of others. They generally frown upon wishing death on others. Maybe you don't - who knows.
EDIT: My mistake, Leroy. I've edited to make it accurate.

If people want to be outraged about it, then what's really amazing is they don't have better things to do with their time.
Edit: Fair enough, Reverend... I'm willing to pretend you never said it.

Have you seen this dude? He's 150 lbs. of soul-wretching, vomit-inducing, heartstring-tugging dynamo. No way would I step in the ring with that maniac.
Very well. I'll leave his comments about Bush alone (though I will remember this when one of you bitch about another's comments).
However, perhaps you will not feel so loving about Morrissey when you learn of his association with THIS GROUP!?!!?! A-HA!!

No, no, I thought his line was pretty trite as far as that sort of thing goes, albeit inoffensive. I just thought we were going to get a FRACAS~. The more he'd ignore you, the closer you'd get. | BOSsportsfan34

I don't think anyone's listened to him since The Smiths disbanded.
