A single-engine plane belonging to legendary film composer James Horner has crashed some 60 miles outside Santa Barbara with one person aboard, who did not survive.

There's been no official confirmation that it was Horner who was flying it, but according to another source I read somewhere, the crash started a brush fire and there are very few remains left.

He wrote the scores for a great number of films, including Star Trek II and Star Trek III, Aliens, An American Tail, Willow, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Braveheart, Apollo 13, Titanic, Bicentennial Man and Avatar.
