Sometimes faith gets rewarded. Since Episode One, the Starks have had their heads handed to them both literally and figuratively. They have become the Cleveland of the Westeros. A few minor victories here, but ultimately going down in flames at the end. Tonight while another team in Cleveland was winning a title, the Starks finally By Gawd Finally got the W. It wasn't easy though.

First, we are in Meeren which I am sure pissed everyone off to start. However, it is just as good as the Winterfell stuff. Danny and Tyrion deceive the Masters into thinking they are surrendering. Danny takes the Dragons and burns the fleet. Grey Worm kills two of the Masters while Tyrion tells the third, he will tell everyone how Danny was merciful. Later, Theon and Yura show up. Danny and Yura have a weird chemistry. Danny agrees to back their claim to the Iron Island if their people stop raiding. Oh yeah, she is going to need their ships, too.

To Winterfell. Jon and Sansa talk to Ramsay who shows them Rickon's DireWolf's head. He also says about not feeding his hounds for about a week. Bad move. Jon challenges him to one on one combat, Ramsay refuses. Jon believes that Ramsay's refusal will lead to divisions in his camp which would be fine if they were the troops Stannis used last season, but they are Imperial issued grunts with no minds or free will even when they are raining arrows down on their own men. Speaking of Stannis, Davos finds out about Little Princess' death.

We finally get the big battle where Ramsay uses Rickon as target practice while Jon tries to save him. Jon does not and we are already one Stark down. Jon decides to charge the entire Ramsay army. He is saved by his own Calvary and we are off. Ramsay surrounds Jon's army until Littlefinger and the Knights of the Veil show up. Ramsay figures he can hold up in Winterfell for a long time until Wun Wun comes a knocking. Jon and the others take the courtyard. Yet, in one last fuck you, because we are Game of Thrones, Ramsay shoots and kills Wun Wun. Jon finally gets his hands on Ramsay. It is glorious. Jon beats him almost dead til Sansa shows up. They imprison Ramsay in the same room as his hounds. Sansa lets the dogs out and we finally get the death of one of the main villains in a satisfying way.

No lie, when they took down the Flaying Man banner and put up the Stark Direwolf banner, I was legit happy. Ok, so next week, Davos confronts Melissandra. Tyrion talked Danny out of destroying cities and cited the Mad King with Wildfire as an example. Was this is a hint for Ceresi's plan for next week or a nice nod that Danny isn't as batshit crazy as the internet wants her to be. Speaking of Danny, when she won, I thought for sure the Starks were dead. All through the series when Danny wins someone else goes down in that episode. Perhaps the writers realized that and through in this episode as a trick. If so, tip of the hat. Really all around amazing episode which continues the streak of episode 9 being the best episode of the season. Ok, Hardhome was episode 8 at last season, but close enough.

Loved the booking of Snow/Bolton as the right guy went over, clean. **** 1/2. Winner and NEWWWWWW Northern States Heritage Champion: Jon Snow.

Most satisfying death since Tyrion cross-bowed Big Daddy Lanister on the crapper.

Would like to find (or create) some memes detailing a text message conversation between the two new BFF's- Daenarys and Yara. "OMG! Don't dads suck?" "Totes ma-goats!" (mixed in with emojicons of smiley dragons with sunglasses)

I was getting claustrophobic during the pincer attack and while Jon was getting trampled. I mean that as a compliment. That was so well done.

Well, Rickon taking an arrow to the chest isn't quite the Red Wedding, but still.

A wrestling recapper's report of Snow/Bolton from the main event of the Battle of the Bastards PPV.

----------------------------------------------------
Daenarys & Dragons vs Slavers was the curtain jerker?!!? Nice run-in from the Dothraki and Second Sons, though. Looks like the Sons of the Harpy stable has been dissolved.

Main Event Recap:
Westeros Northern States Championship:
Ramsay Bolton (c) vs. Jon Snow

Earlier in the show, they had an in-ring promo and contract signing for the Main Event. Snow channeled Perry Saturn in August 1998: gave the Umbers, Karstarks and other members of Ramsay's Flock a chance to do a babyface turn, but they scoffed at it. Snow challenges Ramsay to "do this right here, right now, man-to-man"...but Ramsay holds to the contract and wants to go as scheduled.

FF to the Main Event. Ramsay comes out, before the bell, with Rickon as his valet. Rickon gets jobbed away cleanly and is removed from the roster. Snow is pissed and attacks as the bell rings. We get a full-on 6,000 vs 2,062 (can't forget those 62 from the Bear Islands) Grand Finale WARGAMES Match of Survival. Snow apparently lost the coin-flip and is the #1 person in the ring.

Wun Wun (the Giant) draws #2 and "Big Red" Tormund the Wildling sneaks in as well. Smalljon Umber draws #28 for the heels and gets a quick face-off with Snow and Big Red. We pad out the roster, as countless face and heel jobbers draw the next several thousand. Ser Davos comes in at roughly #1,809.

Ramsay has the last number for his team, but doesn't enter and get his entire stable to surround the ring and do a mass beat-down. The heels look to go over until the Riders of Rohan, errrr... Knights of the Vale run-in for the surprise save.

Is boils down to Wun Wun, Big Red and Jon Snow vs Ramsay... but Ramsay runs backstage. The faces follow, as Wun Wun tears apart the set. Ramsay gets in a cheap shot and eliminates Wun Wun. Snow grabs some plunder to counter Ramsay's offense, then beats Ramsay with closed fists. The referees all step aside and let it happen, since this is the MATCH BEYOND; no DQ and closed fists are perfectly legal.

Ramsay does a hellacious stretcher and blade job. Things appear to end... but wait, we get a BONUS match. Now in her home arena, Sansa Stark uses her Authority Powers and gets five minutes alone in the ring with Ramsay! Yet Sansa mixes it up and declares it a Kennel-in-a-Cell cage match! Ramsay runs some smack, but does a clean job and is on this way out of the promotion.

Fans go bananas (tm, Gorilla Monsoon) as the credits roll. Sometimes it's nice to see the faces go over, cleanly. Great way to end this feud. Now, Jon Snow can be elevated to the Main Event scene and mix it up with Jaime, Daernys, Tyrion and the rest. Hopefully before they pull the trigger on the Army of the Dead InVasion an

Good show, and the right people went over, but do we really need hundreds of people running in in *every* match?

Kudos for a fine recap, dWs.

Can't wait to see who Snow has to take on at the Winterslam PPV.
