I'm rooting for the Kings just because it'd be cool to see that franchise finally win a Stanley Cup after all these years. Also, I hate the Devils (Martin Brodeur's national hero status notwithstanding).
So, with all this being said, Devils in six.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball
Am I the only guy here who will actually be rooting for the Devils? As painful as tonight was, I've never been an anti-Devil guy--I was raised that the epitome of evil is the Flyers, and the co-epitome of evil is the Islanders. Since I've lived almost all of my life in Jersey, when the Devils came along I looked on them more positively. It helped that we beat them in '94 and for a long time had never lost to them in the playoffs (this is now the second time, but the previous time I didn't think we were going anywhere). When the Devils were winning in the '00s, the Rangers weren't very good anyway, so I was glad to see them win.
And I suppose I feel a little guilty about the MSG fans getting on Brodeur a bit more than he deserves, and Brandon Prust suddenly going psycho with his headshot earlier in the series and the nasty slash tonight.
Martin Brodeur is absolutely amazing. He's the best goaltender ever, and it's a shame that he doesn't get more attention for it. Hope they can pull off the upset (and it's kind of crazy that beating an 8 seed now seems like such an upset).

If it makes you feel better, I hate the Flyers just as much! (The Islanders I'm pretty neutral towards since, man, it'd just be piling on at this point. Then again, I'm a Leafs fan, so PITY ME TOO.)
I liked the Devils winning their first Stanley Cup just because they were an underdog franchise but the fact that they a) kept winning, b) won in such a dull fashion with the trap and c) never really seemed to get much support even from their home fans all really turned me off. Call it the Toronto/Canada bias of "we would KILL for a Stanley Cup and these teams can't even sell out playoff games?! Blasphemy!"

I'm rooting for the Devils. Even though I am a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, I 1) Have to root for any team that beats the Rangers and 2)Have to root for the team that has a minor league affiliate 5 minutes from my house. So, yeah, Devils in 7.

This is kind of silly, but my NHL 12 Be a Pro got drafted by the Devils so since I know all the guys on the team I've sort of been rooting for them. (Although, without the Bruins I've mostly just been entertained by the games no matter who has been winning.)

I don't find that silly at all: My My Player guy on NBA 2K12 got drafted by the Jazz, and I kept track of them all season long, though I'm a Pacers fan.

I am going with LA six games, mainly, because I would like to see a majority of these games. As long as it wasn't the Flyers, I really just don't care. Yet, I will be watching these games, I find this a very intriguing match up.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
I want the Kings to beat the hated devils in 4 games so this nightmare will be over as soon as possible. I can't stand seeing the hated devils on the front page of my local paper every morning.
I also hate the islanders, flyers & penguins with everything in me that I can muster and then some because they are not the RANGERS.
