Both LCS will feature the leagues' top two seeds. This is the first time this has happened in the Wild Card era (if I’m not mistaken).
Of course, this is a rematch from last year. The difference this year is home-field.
The Dodgers won the season series 4-3.
This may get really ugly for the Phillies when it gets down to benches and bullpens. Cliff Lee, if he doesn’t pitch until Game 3, may only get one start. Cole and the offense will have to step it up.
The Phils may run into their old friend Vicente Padilla. That should be interesting.
PHI in 6 (so says the heart)
(edited by Mr Shh on 13.10.09 1700) You askew my mirror. I askew yours.
I've read elsewhere that Manuel is going to start Lee in Game 2, making two short rest starts in a row. Hell, why not? He threw 117 pitches in his last start.
I think Torre has enough weapons (particularly lefty-killers) to keep the Phils off their game. Philly has the advantage (on paper) in starting pitching. Dodgers have a clear bullpen advantage. Offenses are about even.
Dodgers in 6. Lee will start games 2 and 5 and those will (hopefully) be the only wins Philly gets.
