That was an amazing 3rd place game. I was sure South Africa would go on to win 1-0 after that goal and that was such a crazy sequence of events in the final 5 mins to make it 2-2 after 90 + 3.

The fact that it wasn't a USA-South Africa game made me VERY happy. I was pulling for both sides to upset Spain and Brazil and I bet the Spanish were happy they didn't lose to both of them in consecutive games.

South Africa should be proud that they lost to Spain and Brazil by one goal each and sent the Spanish to extra time.

I hope we won't have a repeat of Brazil's 3-0 whooping on the US and we can keep it a bit more competitive. Considering we're 1-14-0 against Brazil, I'm sure we're severe underdogs.

The world cup is just under a year away and I can't wait.

It sounds crazy, but I'm seeing USA as favourites for this game. Brazil have recently had some very patchy form and USA are coming off beating the #1 country in the FIFA world rankings. I'll say 1-0 to USA.

That being said, it's important to remember that the Confederations Cup is an arbitrary tournament where the only people who care about it are the winners.

Alas, after the USA built up a 2-0 lead, the second half belonged to the Brazilians, and it seemed inevitable that they would equalize and pull ahead before 90 minutes.

I was really hoping the Americans could find a way to counter-attack. Hopefully they'll learn from this for the World Cup next year.

Also, I want to shove those horns up the asses of everyone blowing them. If FIFA doesn't ban those for the World Cup next year, it's going to be awful for viewing.

I pretty much gave them up for dead in the group stage, so I'm happy with this result. This was the first final match the USA has ever been in, in a multi-region tournament. Coming in second to Brazil is still something to be proud of.

I'm with you, I want those horns gone.

Great final, and all in all it ended up being a really good tournament. Had everything you could ask for - good games, major upsets, great goals and the hosts did OK which always helps the atmosphere. Or at least it usually does except.....

TESTIFY! I don't give a crap if the damn things are part of some tradition they've got. It's a stupid fricking tradition and annoying as all hell to people with functioning ears.

If anyone wants to start a charity dedicated to eradicating the horns before the WC starts I'll give them cash money today. There is no more worthy cause. None.

Quite a few fights going to decision on the card. Now I only started to get into the UFC at about 65, and I haven't watched any of the Ultimate Fighter series so I never really bought into the whole Forrest Griffin thing.
