Well, I hope you saw Captain America before watching this.
I rewatched last week's episode after having seen the movie. May's scene at the end where she keeps insisting that she can't tell Coulson anything made so much more sense.
I figured all attention to Hand was a misdirect, and I was a little surprised when Hand just out and said to Triplett and Simmons that she was HYDRA. In hindsight, that was a good way to establish that Triplett was clean.
Then Hand said HYDRA gets you to like them. And I thought back to the opening scene with Garret and the drones, and I thought, "That was fun. I like that character."
So I pieced everything together just slightly before Coulson did. At least Garret being the Clairvoyant/HYDRA made sense in that when he showed up on the plane, he and Coulson pretty much immediately jumped to HYDRA invaded SHIELD without having to consider that this group that had been considered dead for 70 years was suddenly back and in the midst of a coup. It doesn't seem so implausible when you know one of them knew exactly what was happening.
The problem with Coulson though is that you can see when he works something out. If I'm in the process of putting together that the guy in front of me is my enemy, I'm not going to stand there with a look of angry shock. I'm going to be all "yeah, lets go shoot Hand!" and then hit him when he turns. Instead, Coulson was all "YOU!!!" and a fight ensued.
So we knew Triplett was clear, but Ward was his other student, and Garrett's line about serving under Sitwell implied that people under him might be suspect, so we get Ward agreeing to go with Hand to take Garret in. And of course, as soon as he went off, it seemed obvious he was going to kill Hand. Which... she was a hard ass, but the good kind of hard ass, and I was looking forward to her and Coulson trying to run what was left of SHIELD and keep as much as they could out of HYDRA's hands. Still, as she pointed out, she and Coulson were the two highest remaining SHIELD agents, and now she's gone, so that means that Coulson can keep running SHIELD as his little crew flying around solving mysteries and being stymied by Garret and Ward at every turn.
With Ward turning though, does that mean that he was in with Garret all along (so Ward knew to shoot Nash last week?) or did Ward decide at the last minute to shoot Hand this week? Part of me feels like Ward's been too built up to stay a villain, and he's going undercover to ferret out Garret's motives (to protect Skye, of course), but shooting Hand seems a bit extreme.
I should have known SOMETHING was going to happen with Ward when Skye kissed him. You don't get that kind of personal moment mid-show without repercussions, though I didn't think Ward joining HYDRA would be the repercussions.
I thought the HYDRA logo near the end of the episode was a nice touch.
Now I want to watch last week's episode again to determine why Dethlok was attacking Garret's safe house. (Though it makes sense why he didn't kill anyone). It also makes sense that Garret was tracking Dethlok since that's his personal project.
Talk about Captain America which I'm going to spoiler, although the references are light and you should be able to figure out anything I reference just from having watched the show.)

I'm still struggling to figure out the timeline between last week's episode and the movie. Sitwell is sent to the ship before the double-blind mission that leads to Blake and May vs. Dethlok. Fury returns to around that time to have May tell Coulson he's back (presumably that's right around when Cap gets back from the ship). Last week's episode ended with Fury's drive through Washington, and Simmons said something was happening at the Hub, but wasn't sure what. Fury is pronounced dead shortly after that (I wonder if the time is close enough that Simmons was reporting on everyone reacting to the news about Fury), but SHIELD doesn't find out about the HYDRA infiltration until Cap's announcement, which means that the bulk of the movie happened during the mission to locate Nash. I feel like the events of Winter Soldier take way longer than the timeframe Agents of SHIELD allows.
At any rate, I haven't been this excited about a show in a while and I look forward to see where this goes.

No shit. Fortunately, I saw Cap last weekend, but throwing up a warning before the episode would have been nice for people.
I figured out it was Garrett a couple weeks ago, because you don't cast Bill Paxton in a bit part for no reason. So that means that I also figured out that Ward was a traitor last week, too, although I actually thought he was the one flying the plane at the end of last episode. As for Victoria Hand, I'm not going to miss her. I thought she was a lousy, redundant character, and the actress is just awful. So, hopefully we'll get more of Coby Smulder's Maria Hill, or someone new. And I completely agree that the show has finally picked up steam and turned into something I actually enjoy watching.
The show was good watching prior to this insanity. Now, its turned up to a 1000. I kinda figured most of it out, but God Damn this was executed so well. We now have a Shield vs. Hydra show. I love living in the future.
I'm totally on board for this, but one thing confuses me (and yes, this is a minor Cap;TWS spoiler)
I got the impression SHIELD was done for at the end of the movie. Though youknowwho said he'd go to Europe to find more sleeper cells. So maybe it wasn't. But we saw Hill in a Stark office, I assumed trying to get a job or something.
Why would Hand and Coulson be the highest ranks left? Shouldn't they acknowledge Mariah Hill? Are there really no other 8/9s left?
Ok. And I will darken this one

The cool thing is my answers will be addressed. Both Coby SMulders AND Sam Jackson will show up again before the end of the season!
The Garrett thing -should- have been obvious but they still got me. It's one of those "he's Hydra. Hrrm. Maybe not. Oh wait, he is! Or is he? Oh fuck he is" things. Same for Triplett, only turns out that he isn't (I liked his anger at the end) I liked how Garrett casually mentioned Sitwell and how the boys recruited by him would know what to do. Very well played.
If I have one nitpick, it'd be the whole bit about who the Clairvoyant is. It didn't need to be a person now. It was just Hydra-as a group- fucking with things.

I'm not 100 percent sold on Triplett yet. If he WAS Hydra, he would've* known that Hand wasn't, so he could've known that she was bluffing. He faked being angry at Garrett just in order to sell his cover, as there was nothing he could do to save him at that moment.

I kind of refuse to believe they're gonna ditch the SHIELD name, but yeah, it could be for her to work at Stark, for a new Stark-led gov't agency, or maybe he's just someone the gov't trusts to clear out SHIELD.
